Okay, a couple of things. First of all, as others have already said there's definitely a difference between the (relatively) few whiny voices and the reality of actual people mountain biking. i'm a packaging engineer by trade (yes its a thing) and also a former shop mechanic. i'll post some more in depth thoughts later (currently at work). first and foremost i agree with all of your assessment. but there are some reasons for these things: -some stuff comes with a lot of packaging because it has to survive the distribution channels. which for almost everything, is from the factory in china/taiwan/etc to the shipping port, across a big ocean, through another shipping port, then to your lbs / etailer then to the consumer. we'd all be complaining if our expensive...
