Completely agree with this comment. With Mercedes in the game, I wouldn't be surprised if other car companies don't want to feel like they are left behind. I feel like car marketing has a total lemmings affect. I'd also add that sponsoring a WC bike team is relatively cheap for a car company.. lease a few cars to the team...

I would like to disagree with your last point. Enduro is a much different sport than Road, there is a hell of a lot more skill, talent and bike tech required to do well in Enduro so most PED's have less of an effect on overall performance. It's a younger sport so there has been less time to build that upper-edge finding mentality, I was all over the place in my first few years trying to figure out how to be faster. So much to try and learn about the sport that supplements were the least of my worries. Anyways...

No matter the outcome, Enduro has brought the consumer numerous bad ass bikes, components, and tools to choose from. I'll always be thankful for that aspect.

As someone who is in the testing world (not specifically doping), the testing is not perfect and there is always a chance for errors which is why regular testing with A and B samples is really important. I think it is good to clarify a couple of things, if I'm not an expert on doping and what kind of products are used, I know a bit how the testing methods work. First thing, doping is a race and the better anti-doping is getting, the smarter the dopers are (or seems to be). So know it seems like athletes are trying to gain a small edge by using either drugs at a very low level or drugs that are very difficult to detect (mostly drugs who completely mimic regular human products from what I've read). Stiks probably has a better sense of the financial stakes at play, but if getting access to some drugs cost even a couple thousand for a rider to hit some bonuses that are worth 10K, 20K, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if some riders did it.

If you really come up short on a gap, you are going to blow through the suspension on pretty much any bike. I normally set my suspension up with a little "oh shit" room at the end but we are talking a few millimeters for larger hits to flat.

Establishing the "Line Score" prior to the riding is the best idea I've heard (Don't they do this with diving?) This does two things: 1) You could have a "Best Dig" award for the highest line score with prize money that goes to the Rider's dig crew, who clearly put in so much work to make Rampage happen.
