I hear you but I am not sure a fully agree. If you're a WC rider, you get what 8 runs to prove who is the fastest for the season? The sample size in the context of racing DH kind of makes sense. The video makes it seem like both rider had ample time and setup time on all the bikes so that they felt comfortable and then you need to lay down a race run. I think what's interesting is that certain bikes tended to work well for both riders in certain terrain but overall the fastest bike was...

12/21/2018 7:44am No doubt its a marketing play for the brands... I was more saying the Syndicate, for example, gets $1.0m in revenue from Sponsors (i.e. SC, Fox, etc.) but the team spends $1.2m between travel, salaries, etc. and Roskopp just picks up the tab on the difference because he enjoys owning a team and being a part of it.

Renthal with 3m deck tape underneath to prevent slipping and add bar diameter. 4 years running, zero complaints. Use old lock on ring on the inside to prevent grips from sliding towards the brake levers.

12/21/2018 6:55am Makes sense. Gwin proved that YT's are capable of winning a WC and the WC overall. YT got what they needed out of the arrangement. No need to pay the most expensive guy on the circuit anymore when they have the market validation they sought - not just a cool, cheaper bike, but a winning bike too.
