11/13/2025 8:24am There are too many attempts to slice the pie. Below are three links to different public docs listing all bike brands that make legit MTBs. (I have the lists reducing by popularity) It's no wonder brands are dying. ALL the ones people can come up with: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YSC2R7E8klzjKC4WfZDTNh6tSrKjo2yNxOJ… Bigger-ish brands: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ajmkOF_YYTcCFTpYMAn-C3yHGY4QmP65D1B… Commercial: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1O3Nw5Wezek0tDx9438T7l27gBwoxuQ1J2IH…

11/13/2025 4:32am Just listened to the Ride Companion podcast with guest Tom Isted. Was a good round up from the perspective of a 'rookie' in terms of the whole week build up, managing lines etc. He did mention that he spoke to the judges about how to improve his score for the next time. The answer: bigger drop. Why? Because the consequences are higher. I found this interesting and frustrating at the same time. He talked about how other riders were super impressed about him tricking off a flat drop, instead of 'the big drop'. So despite something being technically more difficult...

11/12/2025 4:49am 2 weeks ago I finally got around to having time to set up the new crankbrothers synthesis wheelset from vital fantasy (still so stoked thank you vital and crankbrothers). Pulled the tires and tannus tubeless off my oem set (which I can mount by hand without Tyre levers). Try to install them on the new set. 29r front goes on easy by hand. 27.5 rear is unbelievably tight to get the last little bit and needs levers to get on. Won’t hold air longer than 20min. Spray it with soapy water and it blows bubbles around the valve stem and...

11/11/2025 5:58am Resident Korean resident here 1. Things to do on bikes... RIDE!!! The race weekend is also the start of the bike park season locally. There are three parks within an hour of each other, two within five minutes. Alpensia Bike Park is literally right next to Yongpyong. The parks here a different from Europe, smaller and still growing. Wellihilli is further west at lower altitude and has fun runs. You could also ride in/near Seoul. We ride year round here and the outskirts of Seoul have some fantastic singletrack. Even some rock slabs with epic views on the eastern edge...

11/8/2025 5:15am At the risk of sounding like the 40 something year old average rider that I am, the new trek fuel and fuel + excite me. It falls into the category, suspension/geo etc, that the vast majority of riders, if they're honest about their riding require with the ability to easily tweak it one way or the other to personal preference. It seems to be getting pretty good reviews too, can't wait to try one!

11/6/2025 4:41am Their enduro team was done last year but they graciously kept me on board for this year with my contract having another year on it. Sounds obvious of course, but the bike industry isn't always so giving. The DH team took me in and I had a blast all year long, which was the main reason for doing DH at the end of the year. I just wanted to hang out with the team some more, and who wouldn't take the chance to race World Cup DH while they can. As for next year, stay tuned.

10/30/2025 4:32pm The assertion that e-bikes decrease fitness is widespread. On the surface, the reasoning appears sound: riders often feel like they have expended more energy after a normal ride compared to an e-bike ride. Therefore, normal bikes must provide superior fitness benefits, right? Not quite. This surface-level analysis misses several crucial insights about how fitness actually works. Let's start with a simple fact: work done is work done, regardless of the bicycle beneath you. If you maintain the same effort level on an e-bike as you would on a traditional bike, you'll simply travel farther in the same time. In this...

10/30/2025 4:09am Sorry if my sarcasm was a little too thick in the last post, but cutting the junior class is a mindboggingly terrible idea for the sport, and can only be justified as a cost cutting measure for feeding the beast at WBD. It's baffling to read news like this and wonder how these ideas ever get approved. And then I remember, "oh yeah, it's not about the sport, or the athletes, or the fans, or for the sake of 'sport' in general. It's about wringing as much money out of the sponge as WBD can, even if they ruin the...

10/28/2025 7:33am Dude, we know you don't like Vorsprung's distributor model, and without Vorsprung here to lay down their opinions its now sounding like someone screaming into the void. I'm sure Vorsrpung has fairly good reasons for why they wont sell to you, and why their website store allows you to select every country under the sun. My guess is that they set up a Shopify store with the basic settings and got on with their lives. Now can we get back to talking about the performance of various coil shocks.

10/27/2025 1:09pm The adjuster is on the progressive wind. So by setting it to the higher spring settings you’re “deactivating” the progressive portion of the spring. In short Lighter spring rate = more progressive Heavier spring rate = less progressive
