In Jackson's preview video there was a 3 second segment where I thought I heard him breathing heavy. I hope he's feeling okay!😄

Yeah dude if you don’t have a couple e-fats hanging off the back of the RV don’t even bother showing up to the 50s diner sports bar in this town. Names like PEDALOOG and VICTROX in big silver letters on the big square downtube beam member are a bonus.

I would think the Walton’s could easily start their own brand/sub brand with just about whoever they wanted. (Don’t they already have one). Doesn’t seem to make a ton of sense to buy into a brand with a tarnished reputation and a ton of unnecessary hurdles when you have a ton of capital and access to one of the most robust distribution infrastructures in the us both online and storefront. would be cool if they bought gt. Put the department store stuff on the shelves and the premium stuff dtc or ordered to storefront. Way richer history and far less...

I'll beat the drum of a different tune on this one: YT is fundamentally broken no matter the region. While I don't have most recent financials, they were abysmal as of 2023 and things have not improved since. I've mentioned it above, but they are underperforming across all profitability KPIs, and there isn't top-line growth to somehow justify it (its not an AI company, lol). I buried this in my post a month ago but YT was forced to shift from taking delivery of complete bikes to taking delivery of frames and assembling on their own. While this may seem...

A friend of mine in the Industry told me that he had heard from one of the reps that Orbea was withdrawing their US presence (at least in terms of inventory) due to tariffs. It was one of the reason's I bought my 25' Wild as I was assuming I wouldn't be able to get one easily next year or especially at a discount like it was right now. That would all indicate to me they aren't going to suddenly put a bunch of money into a North American based racing effort if they aren't even trying to sell more...

With bentonville thrown in the mix it makes you wonder if its the Walton grand sons. They probably have the cash and everybody knows they want a premium bike company. If that were the case I'd imagine they would want to keep the race team and it sounds like that's not happening.

Yeah, super tough season for him. Especially with how the first race went. After that race he was probably like, “ok I know what to do to make it into finals and possibly podium.” And then just gets put through the wringer at every other race. I do wonder if thing would have been different if they were still taking 60 finals. Would he have made more top ten finishes with one more shot at a race? Anywho, stoked for him. Total beast to rock up and take the W Last random thought. Wonder what he’s up to next year...

" Q2 has worked from the point of view of making qualifying more exciting, but is the race more exciting when top riders aren't in the mix (look at how close Jackson was to missing the big show this weekend)? For me the jury's still out on that one" I want to see the fastest 30/15 riders on a given track compete for the win on equal (or as equal as possible) footing. As soon as you start giving out protected status, qualifying becomes a two tier system. This may sound harsh but I want at least 1 potential winner...

I see a few things... The first the mindset that there's nothing but $10k bikes out there.. Meanwhile, there are a bunch of bikes out there that can give you 90% or more of the performance at a fraction of the price.. I guess you can't flex at the trailhead without that big price tag.. I remember when $3k was the most expensive bike on the shop floor... I'd gladly take a 3k bike today over anything from back then at that price..

I am willing to accept the fact that a top level pro is able to pick up on subtle changes that I couldn't... I know some who tell me I'm pretty sensitive to suspension changes, so to say a rider who rides at a way higher level than I ever could may very easily feel something I'd miss doesn't seen crazy to me..

Prices aren't already shocking? I don't fully agree with all of Francis's opinions about why bikes/ebikes are so expensive, but I do agree with him that we have been conditioned to accept some ridiculous pricing.

I bet we'll see Loic on it as well. I think it would be strange for them to "release" the production version of the bike but not have their fastest rider on it

IF Canada gets only one round per year it would be cool to switch between MSA and Whister every other year. Or better yet a back to back with Whistler, MSA then down to Whiteface.

I for one am just glad the industry pulled itself out of SRAM SX hell, and we have so many Deore 12 speed options. The fact that covid happened right around the tail end of the whole SRAM SX thing may have done a huge disservice to beginners learning to ride lol We maybe could have avoided all of this if people got Deore (or maybe even CUES) entry level bikes instead of SX in 2020. People probably thought 'wow, these mountain bikes STILL can't shift just like the one I had as a kid 20 years ago'. Here, I...

That's good news at least, MSA is definitely one of the best venues even if it has been raced for 30 years. Whistler will be great but Canada deserves more rounds than 1. Also may as well pin this thread and unpin 2025 so there's less confusion about which one is the active one.

While not my favorite street course for tv viewing by a long shot it’s still a super sick event. Loads of spectators on a track that’s gotta be pretty dang terrifying to see in person or do yourself. Dudes were hauling!!!’

We don't need more rules to confuse new viewers. Every single rider is given the exact same opportunity right now to make it into finals. It's fair without adding protection back in.

I really really hope the build turns out good. We really need a World Class DH course if want World Cup DH racing in the states. Hopefully we get a really sick STEEP AF track and they open Whiteface backup to DH riding.
