Peak foliage to stick season happened over a single day this week, so it'll for sure be interesting to see how the riders handle the changes in lighting, especially in the wooded sections (I'm thinking the lower rock sections specifically...).
Fast As French posted rock garden carnage. Man...really should toss some soil back in there over the winter and let the moss take over.
....in case the race comes back.

Kolb POV complete with epic youtube thumbnail.
Track looks epic. The few changes all look really good.
this is the (V)Anzac spirit in full force. You the man Mic!
For those wondering, ANZAC is Australian New Zealand Army Corps which was derived in WW1 as we fought together, it is a spirit of brotherhood despite not knowing the other person but having a common goal. It warms the cockles of my heart knowing the spirit remains strong.
Impressive Timed Training results from the fastest Juniors, with Tyler Waite, Max Alran, Eliana Hulsebosch, and Aletha Ostgaard posting times that would have been in the top 5 of the Elite. Alran and Hulsebosch had the fastest times of anyone, including Elite.
I don't recall what the conditions were like last year, but the Timed Training times this year are faster than the winning times in last year's finals, by a significant margin across all four groups (Elite/Junior). Perhaps there's been a change to some parts of the track? No idea.
[Edit: I looked it up: Last year the finals were run in lousy conditions, which I assume accounts for this year's faster times.]
Both fastest juniors in both categories faster than both elite categories
Time to get rid of juniors.
Even more reduced pressure on the track and tv schedule, no reason to cancel them if it rains and allows a bigger weather window for the elites as it’s the “main show”
All done for TV
Lukey boi for the repeat!?!?
Vital RAW (still processing 4k as i post this) - how steezy are vali and gracey on that wood ramp into the berms! and the rock garden...sheesh!
Jackson's MSA preview:
@sspomer I could watch 5 minutes of just that ramp/wall to the berm and not get tired of it.
Couple snaps from trackside at practice

The Barel/Keifer shot is so good! Thanks for the trackside snaps. 👌🏻

Crazy if really true
Q1
Vali just came down on her white bike
FWIW: 9 of the 10 Women's Q1 times today were faster than Vali Höll's Timed Training time yesterday. Myriam Nicole's time was more than 6 seconds faster.
Henry Kiefer is a DNS?!? If he doesn't start in Q1, can he still do Q2?
Mid-qualifying report: After 15 riders down the hill, Bruni in the hot seat, Goldstone in 3rd, 3.4 seconds back.
If their Q1 times hold up and neither has to go Q2, that means Bruni will know what Goldstone has done when he gets ready to drop tomorrow. This could be exciting.
Just saw that on Q1 timing and curious what happened to him. Crash in training today?
laurie also DNS. i'd assume DNS in q1 means you're done for the weekend.
I'm pretty sure that they have to break the beam in order to make the Q2 list.
Men's Q1 : Positions 1 - 10.
Men's Q1 - Positions 11 - 20:
Daaaaaak!!!
We love you.
Vali Höll posted a clip on IG showing a wreck she had in morning practice. She says she was glad she still made it to Q1.
