I'm two tuning sessions in to using my new v3 kit. So far it is solid and is definitely helping bike setup. Lots of learning to go to.make the most of it. First takeway is that my suspension needed to run a fair bit faster, was already mostly balanced for spring rates, and my rear shock will need a tune to get faster rebound and lower compression damping. I purchased the kit for my personal use and may rent it out eventually. Only two complaints so far. 1. Bluetooth would be a nicer way to connect than wifi. I assume...

I use 7idp transition knee pads (the same isert as Sam Hills) and can confirm that they have a great level of protection, had multiple hard crashes in those and a light bruise was only thing that happened to my knee, during those crashes I have broken an elbow, separated a shoulder, severely bruised a hip, broke some ribs, broke a toe and broke a wrist

swapped the fox Koroyd insert with the insert of an old ripped 7idp sam hill kneeguard i had laying around. the "loss" in movement due to the level 2 protection and little burlier built of the insert is barely notable. the difference in force it takes on the other hand is day and night. stupid test with a hammer to the knee (no arrow thogh): I didn’t dare to hit my knee anywhere near as hard with the original Fox insert as I did with the 7iDP insert. size of both pads are the same so no rubbing oder discomfort...

Getting everything compatible with latest spec is not always that viable and everything battery operated is generally BLE. 2 minutes for a file transfer is crazy. Bluetooth also has a bunch of licensing requirements (and expenses) that are pretty outrageous for small manufacturers. It's also not very scalable. Once you start adding additional sensors (like IMUS) the files can get massive. For 3-5 minutes runs I frequently see >200Mb. USB or Wifi is just a much better technology for file transfer.

Great article Luis. I’m also a long time user of Motion Instruments for my RSR Bikeworks business and a BYB user for my Scott DH team work. Both systems are great, but MI edges it for customer setup days I think. As said by others, the data between the two systems is quite different, so not relatable. Probably to do with the sample rates. I do actually use max compression and rebound speeds to ‘tune’ the HSC and HSR. Then also use the average speed function to ‘tune’ LSC and LSR. Hello @brook.mitchell.7 , Thanks for your feedback! 1. Bluetooth is on board on the V3 Pro. Indeed, you can connect to a power meter or heart rate sensor to get data from them. Bluetooth is only fine for getting data from these sensors (at 1Hz), but it's not feasible at all for a file transfer because it will be too slow. Just consider that if you have a 2MB file, you may need more than 3-4 minutes to download it. Since a BYB Telemetry file is about 10MB (a lot of data in it), you'll need something like 15/20 minutes...

Not really how three chamber air springs typically work or how you set them up. A fork with 50psi in main and 150 psi in 2nd positive chamber will definitely not feel firmer initially than a fork with 50 psi in main and 100 psi in the 2nd chamber. They will feel the same initially, the 50/150 fork will then have a steeper ramp like a typical air spring. The 50/100 fork will have a more moderate ramp, more linear. The 2nd positive chamber is mostly a tuning aid for the last 3rd of travel due to the much smaller...

Hey all... I fancy myself a suspension technology nerd but I believe that I (like most) understand just enough of it to be dangerous. I've envisioned a general suspension technology thread on this forum for quite some time.
