@enricorodella22 thanks for the quick reply and explanation! Another thing I am playing with is shock mounts. The options in the kit are great but to make fitting easier I'm thinking of making the following. 1. A coil shock adapter like what comes in the box but with the ring split in half and joined by a male/female interlock (like...

I'm two tuning sessions in to using my new v3 kit. So far it is solid and is definitely helping bike setup. Lots of learning to go to.make the most of it. First takeway is that my suspension needed to run a fair bit faster, was already mostly balanced for spring rates, and my rear shock will need a tune...

Using those numbers the gearbox and related components would be roughly 1.75kg heavier than an XX1 groupset,http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/news/article/sram-gx-groupset-first-look-4… So with a light build other other than the drivetrain it should easily come in at 30 pounds. My current Reign 1 with not a single piece of carbon and an x1/x01 groupset is 30 pounds and I could take 1.75kg out of that easily enough with some carbon bits etc.

The beauty of not having electric assist- The higher you make your way into the trail system, the less gapers and people overall crowding the trails. Electric assist is a horrendous idea. If you're too lazy to pedal to the top, stick to the lifts. At least then we know what trails to avoid. They look massively fun but so does blowing shit up. However, you don't see me in the streets throwing molotov cocktails.

Dirt Magazine goes out of print and now this? Jesus... On a serious note, this is a bad idea for MTB. Are the stupid things fun? Of course they are... It'd also be fun to blast my KX450F up the local MTB trails... It's also fun to shuttle all of the local MTB trails on DH bikes, But most people don't (or they get a lecture and possibly a sock in the nose) 'cause it's totally a bad idea and bad for MTB. Roll down the road a bit and shuttle where it's legal (or, at least permitted) or hit...
