I run the old V10.7 with ochain and feel it makes a difference. Also most people who race the V10.8 seems to run ochain or similar. But could just be very marginal - marginal gains

Will watch firsts thing when I get home from work! But if it is not answered in the video.. Do you feel you would improve times even more if the other bikes had o-chains or other anti kickback devices as well?

10/15/2025 10:34pm Since I saw this one 7 years ago this is how I've bled all my shimano and it has always worked well. I use putoline 2.5W but used to use the normal shimano.

Trying to focus this one the thread topic on hand, I'm willing to bet that when SC updates the Nomad and Megatower next year, they go 4-bar also. I have a Vala, a Nomad 6, and a Heckler SL, and strongly prefer the Vala kinematics overall. As mentioned above, it reduces anti-squat and anti-rise to a better level, which pay dividends in reduced pedal feedback when riding hard. I think the shock tune was for this bike and the fork was stock... We didn't get to dig into that much. The fork felt like my stock Ohlin's DH fork for what its worth so I don't think there was anything special going on there.

It's okay though, the Tariffs will bring Hope back to the US where they so clearly belong, after they outsourced their engineering to Lancashire to make it cheaper 😂

Great review as always! Been considering this bike as a way to downsize from the DH bike and enduro bike to one DH bike that I can set up for the occasional Enduro race or Finale Liguresque trip.

As the parent of a kid who is looking to head down that path from way outside of Europe , I don’t necessarily feel no juniors would be a bad thing. I would be pretty happy for him to have a few more years of life and education up his sleeve before needing to move to the other side of the world to chase that dream. It would take the pressure of kids, especially non euro kids to “ make it” on the world scene at 17 or have to give up and head home.

I wrote (then deleted) a (poorly written) post last night, but I’m in the minority here; I agree with Needles to a large extent. I'm not bitter, and I'd be totally fine if they kept the junior category, but from a precedent standpoint, it's rare to have juniors compete alongside elites in any sport. To be fair, it's also rare to have men and women race the same course on the same day, and that won't (and shouldn’t) change.
