What I took away from this Charlie is that you’re still riding 175mm cranks

How on earth does the secondary chain fit inside the seat tube with enough room to drive the upper pulley with any degree of efficiency? I don't get it. The more I read about all this high pivot, gearbox, dual chain, 19 link stuff, the more I'm happy to be running a simple Horst or a single pivot.

It's been done. Rocky, Banshee and others have experimented with bushings. They all creaked worse than a rusty shopping cart after a while... or immediately depending how lucky you were.

I don't find the Mary and Assegai to be similar tires. Mary is far better in the soft/loose but squirmy on hardpack corners or off-camber rock. Assegai is the opposite - good when it's dry or firm but lacks bite when it's really soft and it clogs up. For mixed conditions Schwalbe tire I prefer the Tacky Chan, but it...

This is confusing. It sounds like a rebrand of Fazua to me, but they're spinning it as something different. But then what happens to Fazua, which is wholly owned by Porsche? The joint venture with PON is also weird, I doubt other brands will want to buy motors from the corporate juggernaut that is Cannondale/Santa Cruz/GT/Cervello/Mongoose/Focus... Maybe PON thinks they're...

So a "buddy" of mine used to write reviews for MTB brands/apparel/components. He/they would not/hesitate/re-write negative reviews of things so as to help maintain the relationship they had with the companies they were dealing with. Sometimes, they just simply wouldnt publish a review for the product they were sent. Think back to the last time you read a overly negative review of a product. Now I get that most products are really good nowadays, and most reviews are written in a way to highlight the favourable aspects of a product, or to highlight that a certain product might not be...

I know you asked for help choosing between A or B, but have you tried C, D, E, F, G, H, or I? I haven't ridden A or B but I came here to say you should really think about C, D, E, F, G, H, or I.

Also, I hate to say it, but I think larger volume tyres roll faster, as shown in road and XC: https://www.schwalbetires.com/technology-faq/rolling-resistance/ I'm doing decent speed for a respectable rider, but not tyre ripping off the rim issues like WC pros, so maybe my requirements are different.

Does anyone really want to read my 42 years of mtbing stories? Or maybe you've been on a ride, bike or lift, with me and already heard them. I'll start with toe clips since that's what brought us all together here. And since google couldn't find a photo of a Rivat cyclocross shoe I will have to post one of the few old photos I could find of myself wearing the shoes. Back story for the photo, this may have been 84ish, Pearl Izumi photo shoot. After this photo I told the photographer about the "jumps" behind our house and...

Does anyone have insight on additional financial support for all these teams switching to belt drives? It doesn't seem like the low (and further decreasing) probability of winning a mere $100,000 would move the needle any meaningful amount. The most plausible reasons would be additional sponsorship funds from the belt associated brands or hoping to take advantage of the seemingly disproportionate publicity about the $100,000 prize. Additional sponsorship seems most likely, wondering if that's documented anywhere.

Wish they'd do the AeffectR in the 160s too. I've had the 165s on the pedal bike for several years now and they are the best price per weight per tough cranks I've owned.

DH bikes are usually loss leaders (more accurately a marketing tool) for a brand once dev costs are factored in. “Flop” needs a lot more context in this case.
