Well, you either set up expansion when you can swing it or you don't. No doubt the North American stock will be very low for some time, but opening a new arm of business is a long term move that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with an immediate stock issue or short term problems. This would have been mapped out years ago in a business plan and heavily invested in it then, it's not like last year they decided to open up an entirely new operation. Every bike company is dealing with the shortage issue, it's not really that...

Off topic: Americans are weird. Whenever this topic comes up it's always some American that regurgitates these talking points. I know that generalization hits a lot of good folk out there but, wow - you guys have a serious problem on your hands. Flatlander over here isn't even a rare exception. He's just one of the few that accidentally found...

The people yelling government overreach wouldn't likely be shouting then, but a whole bunch of other people would. Preventing Muslims from racing is simple discrimination without any grounds. Enforcing vaccinations in a pandemic is at least debatable, it has a positive end game. Preventing people from participation based on race/religion doesn't have a positive end game. As for mortality rate, I'm guessing you'd still have a ton of vocal people even with a 100 % death rate. 'Just don't catch it, why do we have to vaccinate'. BTW, I'm REALLY interested in how many antivaxxers (the diehard ones, that don't...

What would the level of Mortality for a pandemic need to be to change peoples minds like Bizutch or FLFlatLander's? Let's hypothesize that getting the jab prevented a 12 monkeys type apocalypse, would they then be ok with mandates? What if the scenario was that the French government was not allowing riders to compete from Muslim countries "that harbor terrorists" instead of non-vaccinated. Of course there aren't many pro riders from these countries, but if there were, I bet we would see the people in this thread who are yelling "Government Overreach" suddenly be less vocal. What if riders couldn't...

So wait... Vaccine stuff once again aside... They're making the creation of false documents illegal. Isn't that already a law for most documents? Government issued or otherwise? Medicare cards, drivers licenses, bus pass, voter information, etc. This isn't a new thing to making false documents illegal. https://prisonprofessors.com/forgery/

Uhhh, the general population should choose get the vaccine (healthy lifestyle of not) to stop their elderly relatives with the risky conditions you describe from dying when you pass it on to them. (June 2020); https://www.ageuk.org.uk/discover/2020/06/coronavirus-risk-for-older-people-updated/ FWIW, UK adults are 84% double vaccinated (64% boosted) and I've not heard of anyone's limbs falling off/multiplying in their sleep. The UK was hit hard by Covid prior to vaccines - around 1 in 12 over 80s in the UK had already died of Covid by January 2021 (about 1 months after vaccines began rolling out here). One year into the...

Started typing a response but after a couple years of seeing your posts decided it wasn’t worth the time. Where’s the block feature vital? I don’t need a safe space but this site could be more enjoyable if I could select to not see what one or two people has to say.

Let's be honest, it's their rules, their terms to enter their country. Even most of Europe, if you can't accept that don't race and don't complain. The vaccine gives you a opportunitiy

America, land of the free, where it is your right to burden the population as a whole with the consequence of your bonkers views on medical science. If I was a racer I'd be much more worried about the long term effects of getting a respiratory illness than the fact that someone's mum's cousin's friend had a reaction to the vaccine

Personally, I think it’s great. I wish the U.S. would lay down some authority too. There might be a few riders who opt not to get vaccinated, but I don’t think it will be any of the top contenders. Bring on the racing!

Braking is by far the largest and most consistent source of potential energy on a bike that won't take any additional energy from the rider. You'll definitely still need a small battery to store the energy from it though. The only problems I see with this are that the magnets and coils needed to make this work are not light...
