The components on the non-S-Works builds are pretty disappointing and confusing. At the $6500 build, you get the base Fox Performance (not Elite) suspension, but carbon wheels?

So the only criteria that anything should be evaluated on is weight and cost? Got it.

There was less of an outcry, because at the time, people were still on the fence about the whole 1x thing to start with. SRAM did only roll out the license to a select few manufacturers to start with, but it opened it up fairly quickly after that (note that the XD Driver is an open and free of charge standard these days, while the XD cassette is not - companies have to pay a license fee if they want to manufacture XD-compatible cassettes, to the best of my knowledge).

When SRAM 1x11 first came out, the XD driver was all-new too, yet that drivetrain was widely praised and credited with ushering in the mass adaptation of the 1x transmission in the MTB world at large. No doubt we'd have much preferred to see wider licensing of the MicroSpline standard right off the bat, but we have little doubt it's going to happen. And the trickle-down has also already started with the recent introduction of the new XT group, which delivers pretty much all of the XTR benefits and performance at a lower cost.

Thanks folks ... still remember meeting Spomer at a NORBA so many years ago and knowing instantly I’d met someone who got this whole MTB thing. Years of Littermag then Vital later and that still holds true! Cheers for the good times on this journey of bikes!

Pressure won't hold you up in big hits like HSC will. Even a really stiff spring will blow right through its travel without any HSC. I have tested this a little, definitely a sweet spot where both things are used lol.

The fork you are searching for does not exist. Cantilever mounts were long gone by the time a 160mm+ fork hit the market. You may just have to switch to a disc brake up front.

Loic and Finn switch to Maxxis in 2019 and dominate. Gwin, Mulally, Moir switch to Kenda, not so much.

This article needs an explanation of the tests and what the numbers actually measure. It is just a set of random pictures with some bad English explanation. Even though CushCore has published this content, I trust that they have not tailored the test to their advantage, though.

it's more a matter of the difference in failure modes. yes they're intended to accomplish the same things and provide the same benefits, but do so with a different design. the foam inserts evaluated here rely on elastic deformation of the material. procore utilizes an air bladder.

The data is the data but that doesn't mean that the conclusion is "you should all run cushcore." Cushcore is demonstrably better along the metrics analyzed here but there is more than just these metrics that factor in a persons decision regarding which insert to purchase. Like price, cushcore costs 2x what some competitors charge and doesn't deliver 2x increase in protection relative to them along all metrics. Or ease of install and removal which Cushcore is notoriously hard to install and remove. Or weight. etc etc. TLDR Climd down from your high horse
