I've noticed a few quick shots on social media the past few weeks of what looked to be a new Maxxis spike tire, but couldn't tell for sure. Here's a better view.

Here's a story for ya. My first DH fork was an original Z1 with that crazy four inches of travel mated to my 22" polished Heckler. My first DH race was the Leaping Lizard in Laguna circa '93? '94?. I got the invite through my friend Feiki Bahn who I traveled there with and actually bought the fork and Formula brake off of. On the way down the I5 we stopped in Valencia to see his friend who worked at Marzocci. We got the full factory tour and I noticed some of these upper tubes and crowns in the shop...

That was because inverted forks are far less stiff to start with. I very much doubt they would be unable to design a conventional 38mm DH fork that that wasn't at least as stiff as a 38mm Ohlins or 35mm Boxxer. I also doubt we'll see it happen though.

earlier when i posted that i pulled up Fox's statement on the inverted 40 that was published on pinkbike...... in 2012.... the fore/aft stiffness was higher but torsional stiffness was lower, both aspects in comparison to the regular 40. they could have made it stiffer torsionally but not at a weight that anyone would be willing to accept. but to...

When we talk about the GOAT, Anne Caroline Chausson should always be in the mix. An incredible competitor and amazing human.

Plus Plus time in the gym. Its not as effective as riding, but keeps me far more sane than riding non stop 12 months a year, and I enter the season in WGE (way good enough) shape for my lackluster racing efforts.

The man is a wizard on a bike. Companies could care less if an athlete actually wins a race as long as they have good results, and can make rad films featuring their bikes. Even just having a stylish pro on the team drastically increases bike sales because people want to ride a bike that allows them to ride like _____(insert pro’s name here). Now let’s stop criticizing Cody for “not winning an EWS Race” He helped win trophy of nations, the fact is, keeping up with Richie is nearly impossible. He has also won a ton of national level...

Looks like 1 year of sponsorship left with UCI and Mercedes. They signed a 3 year deal starting 2018 season. [Mercedes UCI sponsorship]https://element.ly/2017/11/mercedes-benz-to-sponsor-uci-mtb-world-cup/[…]

A couple of thoughts on the Santa Cruz/ Nina situation.. At this level, adding another rider doesn't just happen.. All the team sponsors also have to willing to step up with additional support... Maybe since 3 riders is the comfort zone for Santa Cruz. and Greg is going to consider retirement at some point, the plan is to keep Nina on some sort support ride until a spot opens up... Now, if someone offers her a ride before they have a spot for her, do they let her go or do they get things in place for a 4th rider?

this is good advice in general for spectating world cups. ive been to both Windham and Snowshoe here in the US for world cup. if you plan on hiking carry enough beer and water. personally i like wearing hiking shoes/boots. also cowbell if you don't already have one.

Best to buy your tickets before to skip some of the queues when you arrive. If its decent weather its good to walk down the whole track so you can see the riders in the bits that aren't broadcast but the atmosphere in the finish for the last few riders is amazing so get down to the bottom for then end
