i did check the time stamps on the comments while they were active, it didn't start off bad, but it devolved quickly when they refused to answer questions and it became readily apparent that there were some shenanigans occurring from their side (multiple accounts, etc). i can only feel so bad for them when they start off their press release...

short answer: yes, the value is worth it (in respects to the retail value of the items) i'm not a recurring member, but i have purchased a few boxes (they sell excess in the store). one i got a digital shock pump which by itself is worth at least as much as the box itself, and there were several other...

Regarding the fsr, the first Genius from Scott with the pullshock (um... 2004?) was a Horst link and couldn't be sold in the US. They then went single pivot because of that, Canyon didn't have a US presence, etc. That changed as soon as the patent (which was valid only in the US) expired with Scott moving back to horst link (as did Transition among others) and Canyon soon moving to US as well.

patent / IP rules vary from country to country. i remember for a while there was a brand of bikes in the EU that couldn't sell certain models in the US because it would have infringed on the FSR patent, can't remember which one though. in the US patents cannot be renewed after 20 years. there are circumstances when extensions...

I’m not a mom but a dad to four kids (10,9,7,4). I’m still able to ride 80 plus days last year and train 5 days a week in the winter. My wife is in med school and I don’t miss much of my kids activities. Priorities change but I still make sure my wife and I have time for our things. If she wants it, she will be able to do it. They run their own team and I’m sure she will bring the little one with her. Depending on how her pregnancy goes (no forced bed rest), she can...

Considering we are most likely looking at another shortened season, if she plans on continuing racing, this probably couldn't be a better year to take a break to do the family thing.. As for coming back to race, she's a top level athlete.. She most likely won't have much trouble getting back to form post pregnancy. Congrats to them!

Not sure that having a baby would necessarily mean an end to a racing career: there are plenty of fathers riding on the WC circuit that still shred and kick asses, I don't see why a mum (furthermore, THIS specific mum) couldn't. Come on guys, we're not living in the 60s any more.

pulled the trigger on a set of DH34's to try this year (after forever and a day on DHFs) now that it looks like i'm able to start riding DH again. one part is that it seems to be one of the few tubeless ready DH tires that's available in a 26" size (ducks for cover).

Just watched Accomplice on Netflix last night and really respected how much time and effort Zink put into making sure that Paul Basagoitia wasn't left feeling alone. Zink taking the time and effort to put that message out on his social media and make a change raised my respect for him even more. Pretty cool... Edit: whoops, name.

Agreed. I couldn’t care one bit about the “bashing” of previous sponsors. Most people have had a job that didn’t work out well and I don’t think people owe much of anything once a company is no longer signing your checks. But nothing is cool about reckless driving or the use of slurs. And a huge difference between making a poor decision in a moment and actively broadcasting stupid behavior bound to have negative effects on others. Still have respect for zink. Seems to be a guy who’s pretty genuine especially when it comes to his crew. But a little...

Aaaaand, it looks like the gang is getting back together! This was posted on Bicycle Retailer: POM hires former Bike editors, will launch mountain bike title Pocket Outdoor Media is expanding deeper into bicycle media and adding scale to its Active Pass membership by hiring five Bike magazine editors who were furloughed this fall. The crew will lead the effort to launch a new mountain bike title in 2021. Pocket will launch the new brand with a website in December; the first of four quarterly print issues will be published in the first quarter of 2021. Pocket hired Bike’s...
