I’m also running Shigura setup and currently trying them with SRAM’s HS2 rotors. I agree, they’re not that great when mated to Magura’s. I’m sure with Codes they work wonderfully

Not to sound too silly but I'd recommend something in between, a classic "all mountain" bike... Something on the burlier side of the trail bike spectrum such as a Santa Cruz Hightower V2, Trek Remedy, Norco Sight, Canyon Spectral etc. with around 150 mm of travel but intended for more than just descending. I'd say a bike like the Hightower (my current bike just to be clear) probably out-enduros a lot of enduro bikes from just a few years ago while still keeping up pretty well with the 130-140 mm trail bikes on the climbs. If you want more downhill...

I agree with BulletBass.Without knowing the terrain in your area, I think day-to-day a trail bike is the way to go. It is more fun and likely faster on most terrain save for the true super gnar. It’s pretty insane how hard you can ride a 140mm trail bike these days I am of the opinion that it's more fun to push a trail bike to its limit and have to finesse through some super-gnar compared to hauling around a huge, long, and sluggish enduro bike.

One way to own the market is to own the media. Look at what FOX and OAN did for the GOP. They influenced a generation of voters. How can we sell more bikes AND make sure our competitors don’t get favorable media time? 🤔 I know! We buy as many media outlets at once!

I was up to 250lbs last winter. Back down to my normal 200lbs now. I have collected 5 springs over the last couple years. 2 came with the shock (I had it rebuilt to fit my new Pistola). The other 3 were all purchased used. But, now I have what I need for any future weight changes. I should still be in the correct weight range if I decide to move to a different frame (highly unlikely considering my love for Guerilla Gravity and this new over-shocked Trail Pistol).

If money isn't an issue, why not just do the 30SLs with a DT 240? My guess is that would take around 280g off your wheelset now, and 90g per rim which is likely where you will notice the weight the most. Likely a bit less durable with the SL vs 30s though. Having a rim that is covered by a warranty should be a pretty high priority for you IMO as when you go lighter you are bound to break one. Santa Cruz gets the points for that. Maybe just get lighter tires? For example if you have DHF's...

highndry Liked a reply to forum topic How Noisy Is Your EXT?

11/29/2021 3:42pm
Agree that it is noisy but I knew that before getting it. The tech that is in this trickles down from much bigger and more serious racing machines where the sound doesn't obviously matter. EXT is actually designed to make the oil movement more turbulent. I bet the normal big shock brands work to make theirs quiet at the cost of performance just so there is never any of these threads or bad reviews. For me the superior performance is far above anything else. The clack and whoosh bothers me way less than the "carbon echo" typical in frames... or...

It's not just price of raw materials that's causing issues with bike pricing, it's the way the entire industry is set up. Every component has so many steps before it gets into the consumers hands that the price increases exponentially if there's an issue. For example, and please correct me of I'm wrong, Honda manufacturer's almost every part of an Enduro moto in house. They have complete control over almost all of their part supply chain other than raw materials to build that bike. They have all their engineers in house. They have all their testing in house. The only...
