I’m on a Pike Ultimate and my bike feels very balanced. I have always set up my fork a bit stiffer than factory recommended. Just a bit, though. The way these newer RS forks work, it’s still supple off the top.
I set mine up with a stiffer coil, less dampening, and a tad faster rebound than Push recommended. It pumps and jumps as it should. I doubt you will be able to get quite the same progression as you would with an air shock but, mine doesn't feel like it wallows or anything.
I was up to 250lbs last winter. Back down to my normal 200lbs now. I have collected 5 springs over the last couple years. 2 came with the shock (I had it rebuilt to fit my new Pistola). The other 3 were all purchased used. But, now I have what I need for any future weight changes. I should still be in the correct weight range if I decide to move to a different frame (highly unlikely considering my love for Guerilla Gravity and this new over-shocked Trail Pistol).
I have had a an 11.6 on three bikes. The GG Smash and Shred Dogg (aluminum, pre-2019 variety) and now on a Pistola (2021). I had a Super Deluxe Coil on the aluminum bikes as back up. Both are damn good shocks. For me, one gains a whole lot more in adjustment with Push as well as customer service. I have called Push and spoke with one of their tuners to get my shock to feel exactly as I wanted. Good luck getting someone from Rockshox on the phone. I think the bottom line is Push is going to be...
