This is spot on. I have probably 5000 miles on Megatower V1 and 2000 miles on V2. The SC lower link VPP bike have a "simple" but effective kinematic that can highlight differences in shock characteristics and performance. Shorter travel bikes seem to typically be optimized around a single shock and base tune, when you deviate from that it's uncharted waters. You might end up with something really good or something bad. From a philosophical standpoint I think more MTB journalism outlets need to dial in on this. Testing different shocks on different frames with different riders is a huge...

Matt Beer rides a nomad 6. That has been their go-to for shock testing since they completed their "shock week" series of testing 3ish years ago. There are rumors of a new long travel SC bike and there have been spy shots of some aluminum vpp mules. Fwiw, I have a nomad 6 and I've done a lot of shock testing on it myself (5 different shocks) and it is a great platform for shock testing for a variety of reasons.

There have been prototypes kicking around for a couple years. Max Grayston (motomaxcanada IG handle) posted some pretty clear pics of it last year. Glad to hear it's finally coming!

Word on the street is that Chromag will be releasing a new freeride bike in the next month or so. 170ish travel. Single and dual crown options (think Bottlerocket). The biggest surprise: not steel

I feel like a lot of April fools jokes are like satire sites writing about the current regime in the US....you can make up something completely unhinged and at this point I'm like yeah....I'd believe that.....keep scrolling.... I think iFixit did a good job this year when they said Apple was recalling Macbook Neo's because they made it "Too repairable"....You could do the same to a lot of bike parts companies!

i clicked on the thread and my vote is that thumbnail photo should be censored. nothing but ptsd from the goobers that wear those pants my buddy nick wears swim shorts for years now. honestly great tactic. he is beyond bothered by how expensive mtb specific shorts are, just to be thrashed from one spill and the hyper annoying shh shh shh noise when climbing/pedaling

I ride in Lululemon ABC Warpstreme due to length requirements (37" inseam model). Been a big fan for trail riding (only when it’s cold- as I hate pants). Extremely comfortable fit and material. Not quite what I would want on DH days though.
