you sound like your a CC employee or sponsored from them? I had CC for a bit and found it a total hassle to install, change tires, etc. Got a couple of flats and you can't change it out. CC are also cracking carbon rims. Ask WeAreOne how their testing went with CC. Way happier with my RimPact's and it was $80 shipped to Canada with valves. CC is over $200 here and over 150 grams less rotational weight per wheel. Also a denser material isn't necessarily better: https://www.rimpactmtb.com/dual-density

These HP designs are cool and great for pro riders with pro mechanics to perform bike surgery every week, but the sheer number of pivots and crevasses on some of these bikes should warrant trepidation for the rest of us. If people complain about pressfit BBs creaking, just wait until you hear the cacophony of death cries (think Mayan death whistle) coming from deep within the shock tunnel, linkages, pivots, idler wheel, tweaked chainlines, or internal cable labyrinths. I get the HP appeal, but there are always trade-offs that come with adding complexity to a system and we've been down...

When I mulleted my 29er with not completely different geo, I got -0.7 on the head angle and -6mm on the BB. Things like reach, CS length etc will vary by 1-2mm, not worth worrying about.

i had a pair of AVS. the shield broke in a crash and replacement was basically the same cost as a new set. redonkulous, so now they are gathering dust. VC, i would consider a pair of these, but only if you can get replacement shields when the inevitable happens for a fair price.

Yep, I picked all the parts for this one based on my own preferences. As stated in the article, a lot of the parts have already been tested and reviewed here on the site, so it was really a case of what I wanted to ride for this one (lucky me!). The one exception is the fork, as it is brand new to us I had no prior experience to go off, but it made perfect sense to take this opportunity to review it. The tires are also new, but I have been running the gravity version on my big...

raising and lowering your stem can have a fairly profound effect on reach numbers though. Its been a while since i did the calculation, but with a 65 HA your reach changes +/- 3-4mm per 10mm spacer, which can have a pretty big effect on weight center and ability to load your front wheel. A lot of people don't realize this either.

I think people are tripping because they're looking at the frame-only price with a Push or EXT shock, but that's not really an apples-to-apples comparison. Frame-only for a Megatower is $3400 with a Fox X2, which is basically the same thing as $3500 for the Dreadnought with an X2. The price is high, but it's not out of sync with the industry.

For pricing - it's not that bad if you've looked at pricing lately - it's creeping up with Covid and the shipping quagmires. A Rocky Altitude is $3860, and a Yeti SB150 is $3900. This bike ain't cheap, but for a small brand, and given the complexity and presumed small volumes, I'd say it's fair. Anyway, there are loads of good budget options out there if that's more your flavor.

I hope many see this. I see SO many people running bars too wide on their bikes. Probably the most common bike fitment mistake I see, maybe second only to brake levers to close to grips by beginners.
