I'm a moderately skilled weekend warrior mountain bike rider, and a highly skilled road course racing driver (Miata's) including some endurance races. I don't have much to add with regards to making adjustments to Richie Rude's riding because I just can't put as much energy into the bike/terrain as he can. What I can interject with is what i know from endurance racing. The best endurance racing drivers know how to extract 98-99% from the vehicles capabilities without putting the car at 99-100% of what it can stand mechanically. sometimes bikes like this come along and i think much of the buying public ignores them in favour of more extreme options. slacker, longer, more travel, moar moar moar. this bike sounds amazing. but is the seat tube angle even nearly steep enough? i mean, as a tall guy, i have to find something to complain about don't i?

solid and fair review. i too am highly skeptical that rim vibration can even be detected through serious rubber and all that suspension, but i'm sure these are great overall wheels. i do like my vibrocore bars.

yep. and funny enough, the name, which is nearly a hundred years old, was a lark even then. a guy built cabins in the wilderness at the top of the plateau and made up a story about an Indian slaughter and called it the forbidden plateau to get locals intrigued about it and want to come up and visit. many locals don't even know this story.

bravo guys, utterly fascinating review and test of all these bikes. i'm a Tranny fan in a big way and it seems this bike may be more well rounded than a dh focused enduro bike than some others have suggested. faffing with the rear shock spacers and tuning, a change of tires and one can tilt the scales and performance envelope. the golden age of bicycles, this much is clear.

i've had my 200mm post for a couple months. functionality is exceptional. the head adjustment is fantastic and unique. mine became slower and slower through a week's riding and needed topping up with air to raise the seat fully. it was easy to do, thanks to that head design relative to any other post, but a PITA and not right. i bought mine from the LBS and they trouble shot it finding a very slow leak. it was fixed with help and parts from the company in about a week. it's back to perfect functioning and the guys at 9pint8...

amazing Test Sessions once again. detailed, trustworthy reviews by well written, educated shredders. you guys really seem to look at the whole bike exclusive from it's parts, geometry, etc. and interpret the experience for the reader. Does the Dj29 feel anything like a bigger wheeled Troy or are they completely different bikes?
