3/20/2024 5:49am Similar to the moto world, the pros ride bigger, even if their weight doesn't match what they're riding. It's been pointed out before that guys like Goldstone, Rude, etc are running spring rates above their recommended weight. Same can be said for brakes. It's likely not a good example to use.

3/20/2024 5:48am that looks like some terrible dropper insertion length. Santas and Spesh Enduro have both lower mounted shocks by the looks of it

3/20/2024 5:48am In one of the shops I worked at, in the customer notes on Ascend if it said “every second counts” that meant they pissed on their bike and any service performed had an additional $50 cleaning charge.

3/20/2024 5:47am We had to introduce a "piss charge" of $100 for hosing the tri bikes down before the techs worked on them. IYKYK.

3/20/2024 5:47am even back when i was a shop mechanic in the mid 00s, dealing with triathletes was the absolute worst. i can't imagine how insufferable they are today.

3/20/2024 5:46am Ant BS newspeak makes my skin crawl. When people use it at me I have to squash the urge to stop them and ask what it means everytime.

3/20/2024 5:39am With zero press or fanfare (that I noticed), this new (v4) AXS pod showed up on Sram's website. Has anyone touched it yet? I'm a fan of the Rocker Paddle (v2), I was was kinda ambivilent toward v1 which I think maybe this is trying to emulate. I don't get along with the first pods (v3). https://www.sram.com/en/sram/models/ec-axs-podr-c1

3/20/2024 5:36am Looks like he has an AXS controller on the left side and a mechanical shifter. Could he be controlling/adjusting the forks damping? Take that Loic

3/19/2024 10:14am The double lap joint is there to ensure a correct application of the adhesive. If you apply it into the groove and push in the tube, the tube will likely be wetted (and this glued) all around the circumference both inside and outside the tube. With a single tube in a single tube it's possible to just scrape off the glue by pushing the tubes together.

3/19/2024 10:14am Actually got to ride a Kavenz with an Effigear yesterday. Having to stop pedalling to achieve a shift to a lighter gear is weird. I guess you'd get used to it but the parking lot test just makes you think the gearbox doesn't work as it keeps the same gear until you let up on the pedals. The guy even had the the chainring on the freehub ziptied to the spokes so the wheel drives the chain to make shifting easier. Without it he would have to backpedal to change to a lighter gear.

3/19/2024 10:13am If you watch this closely, his front wheels squirms in a real weird way right before he pulls. Maybe a rut or mud, but kinda looks maybe it was going before that case.
