There is not much space for sustainability/environmentalism in a high consumption sport like mountain biking. As far as equipment goes, the most sustainable thing you can do is buy a bike that will last you more than a season or two, and avoid driving a lifted Tacoma to the trailhead.

The specs indicate ~+15mm chainstay length at sag, but the graphs indicate a maximum axle path growth of 15mm. Does not compute. Can anyone provide some clarity on this.

"I never got along too well with Horst link bikes because they have always been too playful for me. They like to go fast, but they also like to pop up and out of corners and prefer to leave the ground much more than I do. Traction is only good when you are on the ground." That is a huge generalization. Many people have complained about many Horst-link bikes are being boring and too planted and hard to get into the air. It's not the suspension layout (horst or whatever) that you don't like, it's the specific design and intention...

When that X2 *hits the bed and needs a full rebuild or warranty, pull the spacers out to make it 65mm stroke. No problems with clearance, and you get a little more usable stroke before the bottom out bumper kicks in. Or even better, put a coil on there @ 65mm stroke. I have been running it long since I first put one together back in August.

Completes from other manufacturers are available for similar or less money with name-brand suspension. The ARQ fork seems like a big downside on this build, especially if it isn't readily serviceable.
