I believe Jeff's timeline is off on the opening of the Mills. The Bentonville Mill didn't officially open until 2024 (though it had been operating for a bit in the prior year). I think on the podcast, he puts it at 2021. I'm unsure on the other Mill location dates, though.

VERY rough notes from the insta Q&A Markus says yt usa will comeback, claims yt usa was completely independent and not effected by insolvancy - they purchased bikes from company at cost of goods and sold them. He says they ran into their own problems "why did he sell, will he sell again?" After 12 years of hustle he sold in 2020 to get something out of it. Unsure if he’d sell company again, “sees raw diamond in front of him, wants to develop brand but can’t promise he wouldn’t sell again, but says not his plan or intention to...

I would guess that YT USA sold THEIR inventory to Jenson without his approval, so he's not keen on honoring that warranty, since he didn't bless the deal. Just speculation, though.

I had the same guy call me out as "venting my frustration" because I said Markus kept his suffering to a minimum.. So, now Markus bought it back at a low price, how long before he sells again?

No doubt. Some German is going back and forth with Jimmy and calling him egocentric and narcisstic for, as an ex-employee, not considering the "other" side of the story (Flossman's). Dude... Jimmy wasn't some mechanic or floor worker at a YT Mill. He was the director of marketing and athlete manager for YT USA. I'm pretty sure he understands Markus's...

I'm definitely under no illusion that my contusion was the same as Bruni's. I will say that I did experience the feeling of being able to ride without too much pain for 30 minuts or so after the crash and then things completely seizing up (mine wasn't in my leg) and being off the bike for quite a while once...

I had a very similar slam at windrock, slammed my right hip. Of course the swelling happened the same way the next day, but to make it even more awkward in my panic about my member being black I called my dad because he's a retired firefighter paramedic and free medical advice is free medical advice. Was definitely an awkward one, told me to walk it off unless I noticed a couple of things getting worse. That was March of 24, still can see the bruise.

Well, arguably the biggest issue was... All the lying. YT specifically lying to the media that things would continue on as usual and such. And being as vague as possible so the media COULDN'T report on much. Meanwhile news is starting to come out... About WHEN Markus began re-starting YT. Again, still in the he said she said phase but people are bringing up that the new company (again, its a NEW company and NOT the one that is still stuck in insolvency even to this day)... Was seemingly started BEFORE the insolvency. Call it savvy planning. I like to...

Jimmy: " Why was a new entity created on July 11, when the insolvency didn’t happen till after? Why wasn’t it done in your name? Asking on behalf of honest hard working people." "I was a US employee for the last 3 years, as were many on here asking valid questions. The level of transparency around this topic over the...

Jimmy Astleford (@jimi_sendricks), former US Marketing Director for YT USA and an all around great guy, is going scorched earth in the comments of Markus's "AMA" video on the YT Industries instagram post.

I had a similar one... except it happened up above my waistline on my side from slamming down onto the top of a wooden wall ride. Do you know where all the blood flow and purpling eventually migrates to when you get that level of hematoma above your waistline? Yeah... I didn't either until I was in the bathroom and...

I mean... the chance of getting some support is better than no support at all. I also have a feeling that Dylan and Erik were given reassurances from someone (probably not YT USA... probably Flossmann) gave them assurances that they would keep them on. Neither of them ever posted any kind of departure and neither of them, as far as...

Look at something with transferable warranty then. I'd steer towards something with a Bosch motor, this is coming from someone who has only owned shimano motors too. In saying that, I would have done nearly 20,000km's on these shimano bikes and only had 1 "failure" which wasn't really a failure, rather the motor got a touch noisy.

I dont know of any that offer warranty to the second owner so cant be much help there but would definitely recommend checking what brands the local bike shops carry. Easier for any service issues if a good local shop is used to working on them

Stay far away from fazua, their future is somewhat suspect, and failures are fairly common with them. Too early to tell with avinox. Shimano is doa. Brose is pretty solid from a larger company like specialized, if you have warranty. Their bikes are pretty "meh" though. I'd be looking for a used crestline 180 with the bosch gen 5 if I were you.

Okay: My son is hellbent on getting an e-bike as his trail bike (he races DH and wants to be able to maximize the descents when he's riding trail) when he goes off to college. He's, in the past, had support from brands (GT first and then YT... yes... he's cursed), so durability hasn't been the hugest issue, as he's...

Racing and an ambassador like Tippie both come out of the marketing budgets for most companies. Which one is going to potentially sell more bikes? The guy racing or the guy at races and other events stoking other riders as well as hyping up your brand? I might be biased since I know Brett, but he brings a lot to the table and maybe for less than a WC racer.. That article really sums up Brett quite nicely.

Tippie isn’t competitive, and you’re not really hiring him to ride. He's basically a marketing ambassador. You aren’t paying him to even ride, really. He has a skill set that’s beyond riding and something that most people, regardless of their riding ability, don’t have. He’s not really a “modern” influencer, because social media isn’t his medium, but a brand would...

Tippie was in NWA quite a bit over the last couple of years as part of YT events. Everything said on that writeup is true. He's unflagging in his positivity and stoke. He includes everyone and interact with everyone from the kookiest kid to the most seasoned pro. He's almost uncomfortably positive and full of stoke at times, but a...
