9/10/2025 8:18am I agree that our athletes and "stars" are awesome, but I also think it's a healthy sign of maturation of the sport that people are looking for these distinctions in personalities and looking to root for specific athletes and create narratives and stories around those athletes.

9/9/2025 7:34pm I love Witek. He’s super talented and always been great to me. But that feeling isn’t always shared by others and he doesn’t handle BS real well,,, and a lot of clients are full of BS. I think he’s probably say the same.

9/5/2025 4:52am It’s funny to me, because the very thing on that thread that people were lambasting YT and Canyon for is the thing that I find exciting: bikes that perform well and represent a good value proposition. Fancy magical linkages, outlier kinematics, adjustable geometry, bleeding edge race tech… overrated. Give me a bike with surprisingly good component specs that works well...

ya, weird way of saying my specific LBS doesn't want to stock any Stereos or other totally normal cool bikes from Cube, and therefore I will associate them with not being a core MTB brand more or less. this thread is slowly devolving into pointing out mundane, obvious things companies do and then inferring you see it as good or bad depending on whether you like the company. most brands aren't particularly innovative right now. eBikes ARE gonna be the innovation for a bit. it's a sector that NEEDS work unlike normal bikes which are fairly sweet right now. i...

9/3/2025 7:07am Just rumors but... the word around Bentonville is that YT has investors lined up to set things straight and something should go public in October. My concern is that the amount of damage done to the brand image and consumer trust in the time between now and October will give the investors cold feet.

I know people who commute and have been hit and/or are nearly hit frequently. I don't really buy the idea that Gwin was “impeded.” He started where he started just like everyone else. That’s racing. We dropped protected status from World Cups for a reason, and I don’t think it makes sense to bring it in here either. Seeding matters. The whole race weekend matters. If you mess it up, you deal with the consequences like anyone else be it riding through dust, having a weather affected run, whatever. I think like most things in life, it depends. If it’s serious or life threatening, don’t speak on it, let the family announce things when they’re ready.
