I don't really buy the idea that Gwin was “impeded.” He started where he started just like everyone else. That’s racing. We dropped protected status from World Cups for a reason, and I don’t think it makes sense to bring it in here either. Seeding matters. The whole race weekend matters. If you mess it up, you deal with the consequences like anyone else be it riding through dust, having a weather affected run, whatever. I think like most things in life, it depends. If it’s serious or life threatening, don’t speak on it, let the family announce things when they’re ready. Did you watch the crash yourself and you could see they were know hurt, but you are not sure to what extent. Stay quiet. Did you see someone walking around the pits in public with a cast on their arm or with crutches, but it clearly happened previously in the week and they are fine. 7/31/2025 5:13am Solitude would need to extend quite a bit up the mountain, imo, to host a WC, which I think would require riders catching a second lift. The track was barely over 2 minutes for our pros. That being said... the proximity to a major metropolitan area really ramps up the number of spectators. The Solitude crowd was fantastic.

I'm not sure how exactly that works when the parent company is in trouble regardless of which company they're operating from, but I'm hoping that's how it plays out.

6/29/2025 1:36pm People have tried to revive the American textle industry many times. Kitsbow was one example that was specific to our sport. Malden Mills does still produce domestically I believe, but it's created all kinds of challenges for them.

6/24/2025 8:59am Totally agree. I listen to pretty much every MTB podcast, but I can't handle Needles and his constant interruptions of his guests. He seems like a cool guy, and he's well respected in the community, but the podcast style just bothers me.

6/14/2025 9:00am No kidding. The boy dented the hell out of a FRONT wheel at the race first day of practice. We bent it back out and ran it for qualies then had to go with the spare on race day.
