As someone, loosely, affiliated with the Bentonville Mill, we've been assured that things will go on as normal Stateside. I'm not sure how exactly that works when the parent company is in trouble regardless of which company they're operating from, but I'm hoping that's how it plays out.

Curious if anyone has read Ezra Klein's new book Abundance. It has an interesting perspective on future of manufacturing, urban planning, green energy, etc..

People have tried to revive the American textle industry many times. Kitsbow was one example that was specific to our sport. Malden Mills does still produce domestically I believe, but it's created all kinds of challenges for them.

Totally agree. I listen to pretty much every MTB podcast, but I can't handle Needles and his constant interruptions of his guests. He seems like a cool guy, and he's well respected in the community, but the podcast style just bothers me.

No kidding. The boy dented the hell out of a FRONT wheel at the race first day of practice. We bent it back out and ran it for qualies then had to go with the spare on race day.

Infinite tweaking of limit screws and b-gap screws on derailleur with no success of getting it to shift well with no luck. Oh yeah, the frame bolt is loose. I've done this one enough that it's now one of the first things I check.

SInce it would be a World Cup & not a local race (i.e. fewer total racers), they could start up where WindMill crosses the gravel at the big camel hump rock drop. That would be fully shuttleable for the pros, add elevation and gnar. My brain has long forgotten if it WindMill can funnel into Middle Finger or Cave Man/SnakeRock. I think there are even old gas well pumps in a flat area there to put event tents for warm ups. But not much else. Best thing for WindRock is to push harder toward an old NORBA National format &...

I love Angelfire, but I still find it hard to believe they hosted a World Cup there. There are like two restaurants there. Did people stay in Taos and drive over or was there more infrastructure nack then? We go to AF several times a year and always find it weird how a mountain that big has so little scene...

Raw for Pajarito coming, right? Lots of USDH this past weekend. Stoked that vital is promoting it all!
On Downtime pod, he and Chris K discussed that after seeing Gracie's run, he felt like it was a good bet that Jackson would win. The variable wind took away the advantage all the larger riders were gaining up top, leaving those who were quick on the second half of the track a pathway to victory. Still have to put...

13th Ryan Voit. Dudes a full time trail builder from OK. His practice spot is an all hand built by him and a very local crew gnarly silliness. Plus the guy is super nice and an all around good dude. Much respect.

haha you are right and I am sorry, I didn't mean to derail the thread so much. All I really wanted to do was defend Enduro as I agree with a lot that has been said above, it's mainly a perception issue, so I am trying to shift perception and bring some positivity into the discipline. That was the reason for the Jack/Sram comment and trying to make it less about Sram pulling Enduro funding, and also the Chris Ball comment, which did not go over well, but that one I'll accept and I will keep trying with him. I'll...

Wyn Masters posted video of Samara Maxwell coming into the finisher's corral after taking the victory in XCO with the caption along the lines of "Come on UCI, let them celebrate." because the UCI officials very awkwardly start bustling around her, shepherding her and the other finishers elsewhere, making them pick up their bikes, etc.. etc.. when the team/family is...

USDH is so sick. I was living vicariously while the boy was at the race with the wife, but everything just seems so professional and well run. The podcasts, the race show, live timing, WhatsApp updates, race recap… it’s kind of insane.
