What if we tried putting a small derailleur on the front cogs, may be just like 2-3 gears, then a 5-7 speed cassette on the rear with another smaller derailleur? Same ratios but better weight distribution?

All that pivot shadow at on sale shows is how ridiculous pivots prices are. That bike is priced at 4 grand. That’s a 40% discount. And it has base suspension, base brakes, eagle 90/70 parts. I don’t care how good the “frame quality” is. The MSRP is borderline criminal imo.

Currently in this situation, I've gone for used frame then spend a lot of time finding good deals on new parts (previous gen stuff, dead brands, OEM overstock...) I like building bikes as much as riding them, so that probably helped my decision. Otherwise I would probably have gone used, some proper deals on barely ridden bikes out there

this thread is making me thankful for my local terrain, I have soft Magic Mary front that I've been using since 2022 on multiple bikes and probably has over 3000km at this point ! Currently building a DH bike for park use, really not sure what tires I'm gonna go with 🤔 Radial Schwalbes because I'm curious about those, DHR...

Maybe, or maybe they didn’t have the in house expertise and scale to pull it off. SRAM sure missed the mark with their PT e-bike motors. The EP801 is almost quite good but missed on stupid external wires, displays and battery tech, not to mention durability woes with the prior gen. DJI is reportedly about twice the size of Shimano, 4x the size of SRAM, and is likely to increase this gap substantially. DJI started with far more in house expertise in all this stuff. A bike MGU is child’s play compared to the Agras T50 agricultural drone. So many...
