It sure looks quite refined, it's gonna be interesting where they head from here. If they stick with alu I'd be surprised if they use such a huge cnc'd piece. The bike in the pics looks like it could be made from forged parts, like the current banshees. But maybe its just a step between and it all ends up in carbon...

This does not look like a prototype anymore, far from it. The attention to detail is pretty high. I'm not sure they'd go to that level if this is just another proto aluminum mule to test before committing to a carbon mold. I could be wrong but to me it looks like it might be a early/pre production run to verify before mass production. The idea of a competitive and good looking Intense Al dh bike makes me feel all warm and nostalgically fuzzy inside.

This is beautiful, obsessed with my V3.1, think it will take a big leap in geo/suspension to justify a change. Wish I had that deeper seat tube tho

It seems lost on some here that the riders at Hardline are there because they want to be. None of them are being compelled to do anything they don't want to. Watch the vlogs available, they're stoked. If someone (such as Kolb) decides it's too much no one is throwing shade on them, their decisions are respected. If a feature is deemed unsafe it's immediately altered (which doesn't always happen at WCDH races). It amazes me how many people think they have a better idea than the riders themselves about what they should and shouldn't be riding. They know exactly...

I don't think there's as great a mystery about Loic's time between Splits 1 and 2 as some people are making it out to be. The time in that section was the largest between splits of any in the race: It took most riders a little under 1.5 minutes to travel that section, on a course that was taking them about 3.5 minutes to complete. But not good at all. The privateer racing will be dead afterwards, Unless they also focus on F2 and F3. That would be like amputating the fun part off racing, the part where stunning young people come and beath the stars.

7/13/2022 10:35am It would change the strategy for many riders, but the protected riders would still be safe to lay it on the line for those precious quali points. At the very least, I would like to see the top 20 riders remain protected; the top 30 qualifiers plus the protected riders would get us somewhere around 35-40 riders on race day...

given the financial resources discoveryhas at their disposal, is it really fair that they are passing that cost to the teams? also don't the registration fees go to the UCI, not the media broadcast rights holder?
