The stiffy (anyone remember that classic apirl fools). Yeah, I could see it becoming more common but probably not universal. A hardtail isn't better for every short track course. I'm not certain, but I believe that rule was put in place to make it easier for smaller teams and privateers logistically. If they ban it, then people will just make rigid units that look like a shock. A mock shock if you like. Edit: for all we know, many teams might already be using a mock shock. Maybe mock bearings too.

Allright, watching XCC at Eurosport as we speak. The camera work and coverage looks good. But the commentary for the Dutch-speaking Eurosport is horrific. A cringeworthy combo of road-focused commentators with a high dose of ''mainstream-ism'' thrown in. Probably exactly what the Eurosport wants in order to get ahold of as much eyes as possible, but damn do I miss the Redbull days with Rob Warner and all the other skilled commentators. And this was the XCC... Can't wait for the same commentators during DH are going to be talking about '' Death defying stunts and acrobatics.''

The amazing part is there are people lining up to buy those $1000 cassettes. Helpful for me to remember that I'm not the target demographic, because if replacing a cassette cost me $1000 I would probably quit mountain biking. Side note about SRAM cassette materials- I'm the third owner of a SRAM 11-speed XX1 cassette with thousands of miles on it, and it still shifts better (and quieter) than a brand new GX 1150 pinned cassette. Still on a XX 10-speed 11-36 cassette i got as a free bonus with some Easton Haven wheels. Trouble-free ever since, not regularly cleaned. Will change it soon with a 11-speed cassette from another brand i got for 50euro only cause i have a bug in my head and wanna try something different and out of the ordinary. Can’t really understand people wanting to spend 600-700$ US on a cassette…

Looks like a photoshop job to me. The linkages don't make sense at all. That's a Fox fender on a RS fork. The really slack seat angle looks like it was from 1-2 generations back.

Looks very much like standard PM spacing. I think a big part of the limit for piston size is the finger length/stroke and the strength (force) it can achieve. If you use bigger pistons and still want to have a half decent pad clearance to prevent rotor rub, you need more fluid flow which requires either a larger main cylinder bore or a longer main piston throw. I'm an 11 speed guy and personally find the really low 50-52t gears counterproductive to forward progress no matter how steep the trail is. But then I only run 30T front chainrings on my 29ers, not 34s like Nino and the boys. I've had AXS since it was first released as a group set, and really it works amazingly well and took all sorts of abuse. It's on my wife's bike now. I get what you're saying, but even Ford and Chevy refer to "the new F150" or "the new Silverado" in their marketing materials, which proves that no one in the world actually treats these model names as if they're real names for people. They're object identifiers. I'm not the Charlie, and the Loic Bruni didn't win senior men's world champs last year, but Loic did win on a Demo 8 with the Ohlins DH38.
