You can get that info from rate curve graphs. It shows the starting rate. The smaller the number, in terms of rate so say .333, the less force required to activate the suspension. If you're reading a ratio graph, then it's the larger the number, like 3 which is the inverse of the above. That only tells part of the story though because force at rear wheel graphs are a more complete picture for suspension activation because that includes the shock's spring rate. This still excludes the behavior exhibited by the shock tune. Overall progression percentage can be calculated by...

Indeed. I've ridden inverted forks on bikes and Motos plenty. We all get to have our opinions on how we like things to ride. The "but Motos use them" argument doesn't really hold up imo. We use our forks so differently and ride such different terrain.

Maybe you could call yourself the winner of Giro d'Italia, Tour de France, the world championsips and a bunch more races if you ran shorter cranks Tongue (Pogačar runs 165 mm cranks.)

I still like the feel of my 175s on my road and gravel bikes over something shorter, I might do 172.5s since it's not much different and it would reduce my hip impingement, but I can't imagine doing anything shorter than that for road and gravel/cyclocross. 170mm on mtb is great for me, enough pedal clearance to reduce strikes and...

Isn't the Manitou Dorado a 57 or 58mm offset too? Their airsprings are great, and having the progression tuneable would be good for free ride.

Right on. Reading about them here and on pink bike have made me get really curious about them and now I want to make one for myself. What materials are they making the sprung weight out of? The Countersycle on is either 350 or 550 grams. 550g in that small of a package is pretty crazy, it would have to...

Does a tuned mass damper really do all that much in MTB applications though? The motion of a bike isn't very consistent, so the vibrations will vary a lot.

A Horst link is also a Virtual Pivot design, but it's not a "VPP TM" design. Any bike that uses two links, connected to a member that the rear brake and axle are connected to is a 4 bar and a virtual pivot. VPP, Horst link, DW Link, the layouts that We Are One and Prime use, Breezers M link...

Could be the en-PON-ification of Santa Cruz. Deepening of the influence by the corporate overloads. Or maybe SC just like the tire and got a good cost for them. I’m running the Albert Gravity as a front, I like it aside from it running real narrow for a 2.5. Edit: the maxxis WT 2.5 is my gold standard.

I mentioned the boring thing before. It wasn't meant to be comment on looks or how different a layout is, though homogenous looking bikes are boring too haha. It was more about the ride feel, the kinematics, wheel path, leverage ratio, how those are all combined. I've ridden 4 bar bikes that are really fun, responsive, fast, and provide good...
