2/4/2026 10:06pm For now I'll stick to just horst link and ldsp for the sake of simplicity. Like I said on the other forum, the most consistent difference between a Horst link design and a LDSP design is going to be the anti rise. Anti rise is more or less, a suspension platforms resistance to extending under forward weight transfer. Less anti...

2/4/2026 5:25pm What's funny is that in all my time as a mechanic, I have very rarely had people decline repairs after giving them the cost estimate, I honestly can't remember a specific time they've done that. The closest thing I can remember is people opting for less intensive services, like not having the damper in their fork serviced and bled but...

2/4/2026 4:39pm Sure they might be maintaining the same standing body position on any bike that they've set up to have the same rad and rad angle measurements, and they're equally comfortable standing on either bike, but that does not translate to the bike having the same handling characteristics. You can't disregard the physical geometry of a bike by using Rad, you'll...

2/4/2026 12:33pm We can continue to talk about this over here to not derail this forum https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/hub/frame-design But in my opinion there are benefits to a linkage driven single pivot design over a Horst link, depending on what you are looking for. The biggest consistent difference between Horst designs and ldsp is the anti-rise, where Horst link bikes are generally low (80%...

2/4/2026 9:33am An updated shore could be cool, I've been thinking of getting the current one and making it a mixed wheel DH race bike for a bit now.

2/4/2026 9:20am That's fair, but the GX axs build is 6900 for the allied and the current Tallboy is 7149 for almost the same build... Unless the 4 bar Tallboy comes with a price drop why on earth would I get it over the allied? Or over a Norco Fluid or transition smuggler? Just going the long way around to talk trash...

Eae903 Added a reply to Modular Bikes: Evolution or Devolution?
2/3/2026 6:58pm Very true, especially when it comes to the term modular. That can be taken to mean a single frame for all travel numbers and categories, like Kavenz, or a single flip chip that barely changes anything, like Santa Cruz's. It's not a black and white thing, and while I think a lot of modularity leads to compromises that I don't...

2/3/2026 5:05am It's a Pivot, so construction and QC is going to be immaculate and they have pretty dialed kinematics for efficient, aggressive bikes. That Bosch motor and the interface is pretty great too, feels pretty good and are reliable. Other than that it's an ebike with a special seat tube and seat post shim. Big numbers make ebikes happy, so the...

2/2/2026 3:56pm Those 3 brands + others mentioned in the old thread https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/The-Hub%2C2/2020-MTB-Tech-rumors-and-in… For Norco's new motor platform you speak of it's gotta be TQ right? They are all Bosch at the moment and launching with Shimano or Fazua would be suicide as those are old and hated motors. (I have no qualms with my Shimano motor) I'll eat my hat if it's SRAM Powertrain.
