Supercross has the whole Alpinestars medical unit which is all tied in with paramedics that can attend to riders on track then transport them if needed to the on site trailer ,this is all done as one cohesive unit working together on the track and in the medical facility on site all trained and working together. The fact that DH has a sort of cobbled together crew of local paramedics and a local contracted doctor is ridiculous. They don't understand the sport and the injuries that come with it and are unfamiliar with one another probably all following different protocols...

In my view the big problem with the high speeds riders are reaching is that slowing down the tracks isn't compatible with what the broadcasters want. While they might put in chicanes and bus stops like they have in VDS I think speeds will still be very high and these features won't slow riders in the same way as tech would, but they don't think that will make good viewing. I don't understand the idea that safety is an all-or-nothing deal. Small things add up. Making thoughtful efforts in the areas surrounding the track where a rider will likely end up in a crash seems like a reasonable ting to do, and won't affect the racing at all. Since crashing is inevitable when people are pushing the limits, doesn't it make sense to lessen consequences of a mistake when there is an easy solution? I also want to make a point about the onsite doctor. Having a full-time doctor with the World Cup that goes to all races and understands...

What's the point of having a B Zone if it isn't going to be cleaned up? You can look to almost any other racing sport to see how track boundaries are specifically designed to help mitigate risk. All auto racing tracks are designed with space on the outside of critical corners to give a buffer from hitting a structure, or if there is no room, the walls are specially constructed to absorb impact. Or look at ski racing, which takes place on these same mountains, and notice the layers of different types of fencing, and the pads on the trees...

Hey Losifer, couldn't agree more. Was surprised to check Vital this morning and see a wall of female butts in panties facing me. Like you said, if this was an ad selling women's panties to a website with a predominantly female audience, then sure, fair play. But that's clearly not the case here. The last Vital audience survey in 2022 said this audience is 96% male! I don't know how many times I've heard industry people ask how we can get more women into mountain biking and I'm pretty sure the answer is "Not like this." Selling products to dudes...

This is bad.. If you hype up your involvement (take-over) of the sport so much, with so much talk about taking it to ''the next level'' ''Professionalism'' etc. etc.. you put it on yourself to back it up. Meanwhile a small weather delay has put the YT livestream in an annoying loop of Leogang Tourism Alpine Meadow Videoshots, without anyone commenting on the update to schedule or what's to come.

my $0.02..... given discovery's broadcast experience and resources, combined with the literal *years* of RB broadcasts to benchmark against, coming out of the gate below the quality that RB had built to ***and charging for it*** is simply unacceptable.

I hope the Saudi money line was a joke. Whilst I'd like to see the stranglehold the UCI and ESO have on downhill racing broken, Saudi dirty cash is the last thing the sport needs. I'd rather the sport faded away than it became another bauble to sportswash a human rights horror show.

I know that RedBull put a bunch of time and money into getting Rob media training, and Rob was open to it and worked hard to improve. I hope ESO and Ric/CG are willing to do the same.

As a race fan, I don't understand the new format. I'm honestly curious why semi-finals was adopted? How is the new format supposed to be an improvement over a top 60 qualifier and then finals? Because to my eyes, it's a confusing extra mid-race race that doesn't exactly drive the narrative but gives another chance for race-ending flat tires and crashes. I'm not going to be melodramatic and say this "ruined" racing, because it was a pretty great final with Rachel Atherton and Jordan Williams blowing everyone away. But I just don't get the new format. I think the new format only serves towards Chris Ball's vision of making downhill like F1, focused on elite teams and riders only. The polo shirt and chino wearing presenters and the laboured camera shots of team managers are part of this. By introducing a semi final, it now takes about 5.5 hours to watch mens and womens semis and finals, which even as a hardcore racing fan, I felt was too long. Most people, particularly those new to the sport are going to end up watching the finals only, meaning a lot of unprotected riders are going to miss...

I feel the new format kind of "dilutes" the racing, kind of dividing one race runs in two. Somehow you could now just watch semis and feel like seeing 80%-ish of the action. This makes the main race feel a bit less important somehow. Also just watching finals it feels like you missed something by not knowing what happened in semis... They could at least give a good recap of semis...
