A winning setup doesn't last forever...I made the choice that I thought would bring me success for many years to come. Canyon has a bigger commitment to racing and winning and I've always felt I wanted a little extra help to go even faster. I recorded a podcast with Downtime last week so that should be out soon and explain some more.

From the Strait Acres Slalom Series to a bike park tour and elite global competition, Kyle Strait will be flying the Vitus flag all around the world. Kyle will be riding an Escarpe 275 as his go-to slalom rig. Additionally, look for him on the Dominer, E-Sommet, and Sentier this year. Kyle will also have his hand in designing several forthcoming models, injecting a bit of the Natty Daddy into the Vitus gravity line

Looking at the current sponsoring cuts and layoffs inside the bike industry Lewis does seem to have made a good catch at the right time. He confirmed in this thread himself he isn't racing, or has a minimized racing schedule. Good for him I say, riders need to look after their financial interest in a career that can often be short lived, an outside industry sponsor is a good way to get a much needed cash injection. Young Lewis has used his "head" no pun intended and capitalised on this growing platform.

Hey, thought I’d clear up the fair question you asked here! I’m not into racing enduro anymore or heavily focusing on being competitive and haven’t been for a couple years now. I’ve been racing since I was 11 years old and I got tired of it. I’m enjoying competing now and then In different events but focusing on travelling to cool locations and filming & riding with new people and friends and sharing my experiences and working alongside my sponsors. Change has been good and I’ve found my feet doing this. Cheers Lew

considering the tasmania races in march/apr and no WC DH starting until june, i wouldn't be surprised if a lot of DH riders go EWS (sorry, EDR) for the couple rounds early on. if for nothing else, as an excuse to go to tasmania to ride those trails : )
