Erice would have qualied 1st in womans. Holy shit. Finn was the first generation to grow up with bikeparks. 7 years later we have several jr's every race that could land in a top ten in elite. Now think about about how good kids bikes are today. Hell my 5 year old has had front and rear disc brakes on his last two bikes. The future is bright!

Shoutout to Bode Burke, too, who would have placed third in Elite seeding. Bode took home 6th place at the Canadian Open earlier this year racing the Elite/Open category. Oregon!

Rode a few laps on the new Schwalbe Albert radial tyre. It was bikepark so can't really comment on grip. But the main reason I'm writing is to warn you that finger tyre pressure checks won't work on this tyre with radial construction! At 25psi it feels way softer than the front kryptotal at 19psi, same volume and similar casing.

Make your own bike park by installing a zip line from the top to the bottom, and send your battery down by itself every time you finish the climb. Shred down and pick up your battery again at the bottom.

E-EDR is like if we would have a DH hardtail category at the World Cup. It's cool to be inclusive and all that but it doesn't really belong to the elite level. It should be a kind of cat3 discipline. What kind of skills or athleticism can a top rider demonstrate better on an ebike than a regular bike?

The speed difference between a WW (Weight Weenie) XC bike and a good pedaling AM bike, is 70%+ in the tires. Maybe 20% in the rotating bits (mostly wheels) and then just a bit in the travel and extra chassis weight. As an experiment some years back, I removed the drivetrain (wheels/ tires/ rotors/ cassette, basically just swapped the wheels over) from my WW Spur to my AM SJEvo and did an all out timed loop on a 35-40 minute section that is pretty XC style. Mount the shock with universal joints (sideways, ala Pole) and mount the piggyback somewhere on the frame. More freedom for water bottle clearance, less binding of the shock. Should be somewhat easy to retrofit on RS shocks since the piggy is bolt-on.

Hmm has anyone ever done a proper test/analysis of shock performance to temperature change? As the biggest suspension geek I can think of @TheSuspensionLabNZ have you ever run across any detailed tests rather than just the usual online forum subjective reckons?
