7/24/2025 11:56pm To serve riders like me? I'm a rider like me! Hard to get too down on Intense right now. I obviously don't have any information in front of me that would indicate their costs of operating in Europe versus revenues, and further, with the unknown tariff and general market instability caused by unknown and seemingly random shocks, it's probably wise to focus on their domestic market rather than one that I would guess has comparably minor market significance to them. Plus, you know, Intense has never been shy about being the MURICA brand and wearing that heart on their sleeves...

7/24/2025 12:14pm Lots of sick racing outside worldcups this weekend it seems. In Europe IXS EDC is at Les Orres this weekend on a mental track. Speaking of elevation, it's got some... Maybe worth a look, as they tried to get a worldcup fot some years. And it seems the whole commencal Les Orres team will race there.

7/24/2025 9:35am Since YT is being discussed in depth here, I figured a link to today's launch of the new Decoy would be appropriate: https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/e-bikes/yt/decoy-67731#product-r… A statement from YT regarding the current restructuring: “We are currently undergoing a legal restructuring to put YT Industries on a strong and sustainable path for the future. If you placed an order before July 15th, please note that—due to legal regulations—it may be part of the restructuring process and will be reviewed individually. Our customer service team is already reaching out to affected customers to provide clarity and support. Orders placed on or after July 15th...

7/23/2025 2:51pm Not gonna up or downvote you because I don't think either is warranted. Ages ago, I worked a very end user and industry facing role. I was paid squat. And while part of me didn't mind, part of me was chafed as hell because the union pickpackers were making at minimum $5/hr more than I with considerably better benes. So, I was ranting to my pop about it and he told me one thing that has stuck with me and it was simply, "maybe if they're getting paid more than you for less responsibility the problem isn't theirs for being...

7/23/2025 2:46pm Shockingly clear explanation. My apologies to everyone for this helpful but nonetheless off-topic diversion.

7/23/2025 2:46pm *sets down beer* Pro Team variations - fit is too tight for anyone with a body fat higher than 5%, but that won't stop a dedicated MAMIL [see also: Lampre Man]. Aspirational[?]. Very tight fit. Replicas of jerseys from every race team they sponsor, plus non-logo versions of the same. Tight, yo. Core - regular road jerseys for warm weather riding. The fit is what most would consider snug but doable. Brevet - merino version of the Core line, with more pockets. MAMIL-tolerant. Classic - MAMIL-friendly merino, very comfy on brisk days.

7/23/2025 2:44pm All I can tell you from a German's perspective is that there have been a bunch of smaller (bike) companies here operating under the same self-administered restructuring process - many of which were able to recover. The goal of these proceedings is actually to get the company back on track and not just sugar coating a bankruptcy. Given this, I would expect that customers will receive their bikes eventually even if they are not technically allowed to say this at the moment.

7/23/2025 2:43pm At least Trek's frameset pricing is getting really reasonable for these. Goes to show you where the cost is going, because $5300 CAD for a 37 pound bike with eagle 70, rhythm/performance suspension, db8s, and entirely in-house parts otherwise is.... ehh. Like the old adage, light, cheap or strong, pick two - now you get to pick none.

7/23/2025 2:11pm Well, no I don't think we can say that. Because a you can ALWAYS over-engineer something to make it stronger and make a miserably heavy bike or whatever. If the question is, can a lugged bike be made strong enough while being in the same weight range of 'normal' DH frames? That's above my pay grade. Would love to know. And also BK's second famous snappage was on the production, as in non-lugged, frame so... It just is what it is. Bikes break. I think pros have the benefit of swapping frames out fairly regularly, because brands want to avoid...

7/23/2025 1:58pm According to people during Hardline Tazmania, that only happens to Pivots. Does that mean that - just perhaps - bikes that get ridden hard sometimes break?

7/21/2025 10:11am Wrote a reply and deleted it. While I'm sure i've beat my drum a bit too loudly, I really don't agree with a lot of what Robot has written and feel its a bit mischaracterizing. That's fine, its a forum after all and disagreeing is a great way to evolve thought, I just don't see how I can counter or rebuttal this without it turning into a dissertation (that nobody is going to read). Conversation would be a higher bandwidth way to go through these ideas in a more enjoyable back and forth, but that isn't going to happen. Y'all...
