10/14/2022 10:12pm I have some stick-on cable guides ready to take my brake line external this winter when the frame gets a rebuild. Shifter cable will stay internal because it's the least worst way to get through a crowded BB area.

10/14/2022 8:33pm Fully external routing: fine. Internal routing, guided: fine. Internal routing, unguided, with large entrance and exit ports: also generally fine. Internal routing, unguided, with small entrance and exit ports: not fine. Through the headset: fuck all the way off.

10/10/2022 10:03pm 3rd'd. Sometimes, I feel like the dual compound actually grips a bit better too. Obviously, 3c maxx grip and maxx terra are going to grip better if they have a surface to dig into... but once things turn to silt, kitty litter or deep loose over hard, the DC treads/lugs seem to penetrate that stuff better to dig in. Maybe it's me just justifying running them so that I get more then 3-4 weeks out of a rear tire...

9/21/2022 7:38am Presumably you are talking about the previous version, rather than the just released one with the new tread pattern? Do you have any experience with this new tyre? This is what the press release says about the new tread design. A new tread design features deep centre knobs and high-volume shoulder blocks to bite through loose soil. Block-in-block transition knobs reinforce the tyre structure and aid traction and stability everywhere, from ploughing deep loam to railing rock slabs and charging over slippery roots. Sounds like they are trying to address some of the issues you had with the new tread...

9/20/2022 6:03am These knobs look like Shorty or Magic Mary height rather than Wetscream, obviously either way it's for sloppy conditions where squirm is worth tolerating. I like the feel of T9 and I'm happy to see a winter tread using it. YMMV

We’re big fans of all things Hope here at Vital, after years of positive experiences with many of their products. The CNC wizards from Barnoldswick, England have a habit of taking their time with product development, and they’ve been in no rush to update their excellent Tech 3 brakes which have been garnering great reviews since their introduction in 2013. Still, they knew they wanted to make some improvements and 2022 saw them introduce the inconspicuously named Tech 4. Hope sought to provide a lighter lever feel and increase the braking power, and without getting ahead of ourselves, we can...

8/15/2022 11:59pm Hi all, I love the Vital Raw World Cup videos, but I've always been mildly annoyed that the rider names aren't on the screen, and since the plate numbers change every race I'm always somewhat puzzled by who exactly is doing what. But like I said, I really like the videos and don't feel it's my place to ask for anything extra. So I threw together a quick website that just shows all the rider plate numbers, and when you press/click on the plate number, the rider name comes up. It's optimized for mobile and I just threw it together...

8/15/2022 9:54am They have a few random parts still on clearance. I just picked up a 50mm stem, a chainring and a t-shirt for $65. It was a bit of a nostalgia buy. Worth poking around the site, especially if you have an older bike.
