Their enduro team was done last year but they graciously kept me on board for this year with my contract having another year on it. Sounds obvious of course, but the bike industry isn't always so giving. The DH team took me in and I had a blast all year long, which was the main reason for doing DH at the end of the year. I just wanted to hang out with the team some more, and who wouldn't take the chance to race World Cup DH while they can. As for next year, stay tuned.

Yeah if you can’t honor your contracts you probably should be banned for a period of time. Nobody but yt is to blame for all of their problems. I tend to doubt Marcus will be in the position to relaunch the mob anytime soon anyways. But any league should try to get rid of sponsors who have proven to both been financially irresponsible and act in bad faith towards their riders.

dude, they gave andi kolb a 4 year contract which didn’t even last 10 months!! it’s his first year on YT. and since we now know that YT wasn’t flush with cash for at least the last 2-3 years (thx to some forum members here). it‘s really shady to kinda trick him into signing when they‘ve been standing on weak legs financially for years!

How do you hire Kolb mere months before going bankrupt? How do you run a flash sale mere days before your investor pulls any future financing? Decisions like those indicate a management team that did not understand the state of the business they were running or the market conditions they were operating under. Or...

I'd not be surprised if Ardian hadn't put a "we want to see $X by the end of the quarter to show you can actually sell" target in place and the flash sale was the last ditch attempt to do that - regardless of profitability.
