I heard from an industry head that Erice went down hard, two broken femurs hard. The last drop to step down had to be really precise and too much speed sent you into a wild compression. A few elite males were spooked by it. I hope it’s not as bad as it sounds. Erice is such a talent.

One would assume when a number becomes available riders in order of most wins would be offered the opportunity to swap. LMS EDR number is 22 but he couldn't choose it for DH as Remi Thirion already had it so choose 18. Guess if he had the opportunity when Remi retires he world swap over to 22?

Jess mentioning that a fellow rider went down during practice before seeding for the DH (qualifying doubled as the NZ national Champs) at Crankworx. Erice was a DNS in the seeding/national champs. If it was her it would be bad luck after her 2025 season was written off after her massive Tas Hardline crash.

It wasn't even the following season it was literally following me paying to get out that they then pulled out of racing all together

I had a phone call with the CEO and there were no other options on the table than that to leave. Worst part was that then following that they folded the team but I guess if I had of kept racing they wouldn't have. Anyways I think it happens more often than you think I know personally of some other riders who went through the same thing unfortunately.

Greg keeps his number as he hasn't officially retired. He is leaving the door open to race if needed by being listed as a rider on the Norco x ADIDA Race Division UCI World Series Team.

30 women in finals would be a little silly. I just checked Poland and Les Gets results and there were 31 and 33 women in Q1 respectively. So basically everyone would qualify minus one or two riders? I'm not sure that many women would help the category? Surely some sort of competitiveness is needed to push riders. Maybe 20 in finals, especially if all these fast junior girls come trough.

Over the years I have been to 2 x World Champs in Australia (Canberra and Cairns) which where both ticketed. Leogang in 2014 was free to enter but is now ticketed. Val Di Sole in 2017 was ticketed and the World Champs will be ticketed. Lenzerheide in 2025 was ticketed.

Went to La Thuile and MSA last year. Both were ticketed for just around the finish line and of course you’ll need to a ticket if you want to take the gondola but you could just walk up and watch trackside. For MSA it was tix below the finish line, from the finish line up was free.

Went to Lenzerheidi in 2025 and the whole event was ticketed from Friday - Sunday, this did include access on the gondola on the DH days. Thursday practice was free to enter however if you wanted to access the DH course via the gondola you needed to purchase a ticket for that. There was a VIP area (at a cost)...

Apologies if this is too far off topic, but Escape Collective just announced they're now cash-flow neutral (they've been running a deficit since they launched). Pretty impressive when you consider how much high-quality content they put out and and doubly so that it's funded entirely by member subscriptions.
