With respect Phil has been struggling to be a regular top 30 finisher the last few years. And like Kade and Kaos his skills may be more valuable producing content rather than racing World cups. And that sucks cos those boys really lit up the vital raw , sleeper co. and Ben cathro videos over the world cup weekends. Sad to see the gifted steezy and technical riders are being forced out of the racing side of the sport now . I wanna see some rowdy shit being done on some wild lines not just a load of Frenchies deathgripping...

SH: "...It’s actually been super disappointing that many long-time sponsors that I have stayed loyal to throughout my career can’t even make an effort to reply to emails or messages." Damn, choosing to not pick up the phone/email when SH calls is a choice for sure. He's not on top of the game anymore but at least pitch him some...

Sometime in 2017 - "Enduro will breath new life into mountain biking and once included by the UCI, it will draw crowds bigger than we have ever seen at a single event. It will be more spectator friendly than any of our other disciplines we currently have or ever have" - UCI spokesperson (probably). 2025 - "ENDURO IS DEAD" (pretty much everyone in every forum)

Danny Hart's GT Fury caught a lot of attention this past World Cup season as it had some notable structural frame modifications to increase compliance. Dale, Danny's mechanic, is a veteran frame engineer and had some great ideas on how to fine tune Danny's bike to work best for his style and to eke out the literal hundreths of a second needed to win races. If you haven't seen these mods, check out this quick section of Vital's PIT BITS video here. Let's dig into each modification. This will be extra fun because I was fortunate enough to be the...

Where are all the angular contact bearings at? I have 2 WheelsMFG angular contact BB sets with a couple hard seasons on them. One on my SS and the other on my enduro rig. Semi annual repack with grease and still running smooth, yet to wear one out. Went through multiple dual row BBs on the SS before the WheelsMFG...

From an industry perspective Enduro is almost ubiquitous for a few reasons: 1. They offer a lot of bicycle-specific sizes that can be very hard (and relatively expensive) to source elsewhere. They are one of the few suppliers with a wide range of max complement small bearings. Max complement is a big improvement in load capacity for the specific use case of suspension pivots (high dynamic load, low rotation speeds). 2. They are well known and have lots of international support for people replacing bearings. Go try replacing all the bearings on a Pivot Firebird with NTN equivalents. You might...

strange, i remember when all 3 won a world cup on the same weekend in the late 2000s in their very own catergories.

Rachel Atherton is coming out of retirement for the 100k lol, the bike is being built, and she's probably the most capable between men and women on taking it. Sure it been awhile since she's raced, but I'm guessing she could still be first on race day if she put her mind to it.

There are a few factors: - Norco is owned by LTP, which is a distributor of other brands in Canada. Norco has long been financially floated by the relative profitability of LTP - At one time Norco had a solid XC team, a DH team, sponsored the Gehrigs for Enduro and had Jill Kintner and Bryn Atkinson, and a bunch of others at the same time not too long ago. They dropped everyone else. - They just split with their CEO with "no plans to replace him". The company was flying him in from California to BC every week as...

As a person that loves enduro, I agree. Not everything needs to be cover3d and supported like dh. Take marathon for example... I think Chris Ball created a problem that didn't need to exist. Trying to figure out how to cover it...it doesn't need the coverage of dh so stop wasting time trying to solve it.

Frankly, that’s how the enduro series should be. It doesn’t warrant the big budgets or salaries of xc or DH. It would be cool to level the playing field actually, as that’s the spirit of enduro anyway.

I read it all. I read all of his posts. They're interesting, Jeff seems knowledgeable, and any insight into the machinations of that world are thought provoking. I have very little interest in or ability to take part in big money finance or business. But I'm curious. I like to understand why people do what they do, why things that seem obvious aren't obvious, and why things that seem complicated aren't so complicated. It's pretty telling that you took an opportunity to fire a dart at someone in an attempt to posture some self-assumed dominance over someone else when the...
