Another non answer but I'll never waste an opportunity to reminisce on how good the old EWS qualifying structure was: Riders pay a $25 license fee to register with EWS and get points tracked. Points awarded for Elite series, continental, national and local sanctioned races with a point tier structure for each event level and finish position. Racers go out...

One of the reasons I think Jeff's right about the barbell theory of pricing is that there's so much stinking money out there at the top end of the tax brackets right now. There's a shocking amount of people who live in Makebelieveland and are just looking, itching, for new ways to burn money. There are so many people for whom a $10000 Vado Sl 30 pound e-bike is a rounding error. And for people like this, having the newest, the most expensive, or the most exclusive can serve as the entire USP for a product purchase. Bike companies will...

So much… it’s just too… ÜBER cringe. It must kind of fun to try and write the cringiest nonsense-copy though: “Thank God some kids stayed in science club, because while you were cutting school, they were learning how to manipulate the laws of physics. Some of those kids grew up to be members of Specialized Science Club and helped make the Vado SL 2 an unprecedented combination of power, speed, and light weight.” Gross. Now I want a Rivendell.

IF Canada gets only one round per year it would be cool to switch between MSA and Whister every other year. Or better yet a back to back with Whistler, MSA then down to Whiteface.

I don't think China cares about that. I'm hoping Joe Breeden does though and stops running their bullshit on their race bikes. Is that chainring design a copy aswell?

TLDR - You're not qualifying for the world cup. Long version - Satisfy one of the conditions below 1. Top 50 UCI ranked in elite 2. Be in one of the 20 Elite teams (top 15 + 5 season long wildcards) 3. Be in one of the 8 single round wildcard teams 4. Be on the USA federation entry list (capped at 3 riders) 5. Be top 5 at one of the Continental races and get a golden ticket. 6. Be current National/Continental/World champion.

I'm sure Marc is vastly more intelligent than myself, but he's also a malignant narcissist whose vision of the of the future is terrifying if you dig into it. He doesn't explicitly state it in his manifesto, but he's clearly all in on accelerationism and the Neo-Reactionary (NRX) movement AKA the "Dark Enlightenment". Tech billionaires are attempting to trying to destroy America and rebuild what they are calling "Network States", which are essentially corporate fiefdoms. This is part of the reason why they are trying to sell off public lands. They need land (and farm land) to accomplish this. https://thenetworkstate.com/...

problem with this is no team vehicle can make it from Whistler to Lake Placid in that time period. ESPECIALLY if DOT regulated.... which the SRAM rigs for example are.

I just saw this thread, not sure how I missed it. Some of the things I would like to see (Sorry if they are already mentioned). -Strava private segments: I make them but I would like to be able to invite friends to the private segments. -Along the same lines, maybe some segments require and invite or you have to request to be part of it?? -I use Strava to track my maintenance. Always update the ride to make sure it is the bike I rode that day. I have to write it down (date & mileage) but maybe a...

I've received emails from most component suppliers that they've raised prices 10-15%. Others who didn't send notices seem to have raised prices quietly. New product launches and updates are often price increases in disguise. The owner of Revel bikes was on national radio a few days ago saying that they'll show tariffs as line item at checkout, kinda like sales taxes. Beyond Revel, the story was of how US businesses who held off on price increases during the 90 day negotiation period are now resigned to raising prices if they want to remain viable. I've seen a few European bike-biz...

Not a rumor. They bought MI, dumped a bunch of capital into helping them develop V2 and then pulled the plug a year ago as a cost saving measure. It was a whole.... thing.

I wouldn’t read into it much. Pivot/bernard have plenty of opportunity in plenty of spaces. Masters Walker Masters podium was one of the truly great enduro moments. Race winner. Fan favorite. Not many of those guys left in enduro.

If the rumors of Specialized acquiring Motion Instruments were true, releasing the System 2 suspension DAQ as it was originally intended would be massive. I don't have high hopes of ever seeing it though.
