Gave the trickstuff maven combo a decent run. I have a track that will make most brakes fade and will expose problems real quick. I kept the front pure maxima to ensure I defo would have a working brake at one end lol. The triven combo went pretty good to be fair, it's got good modulation the top was muddy and icy and no issue keeping things in check. But of no surprise to me the organic pads left the chat pretty quickly. Lever has more throw than I'd like, no surprises there either. A fun experiement none the less.

How many racers finish something like the Erzberg Hard Enduro? Lots complained that Crankzilla was too hard but those that were trained for it did just fine.

I think it is all of the above. Loic's Suspension is the best because of the time, skill and efforts him and his Team put into everything they do, specifically testing. Loic's Bike is the best, because Specialized uses him (The Best Rider) to build and develop the bikes. Best Rider + Best Engineers + Lots of Testing = Best Bikes Loic is the best rider, because of everything he does between waking up, and going to sleep each and everyday, as well as the support from his Team, Ohlins and Specialized. IMO, the suspension, bike or Loic could not...

Just a thought: I am the WC commentator for my country. Broadcast has been done today, on Monday, on something like a live replay. I am actually on my way back to my home town, from the main studio. I prepared for 10+30 riders for the finals, with info on bikes, team changes and what not. I think I ended up doing 5+10 at best. Broadcast was sandwiched between snooker and Giro. I am honestly curious what the viewership is on DH compared to snooker and Giro. I don't know what was on when these events were live, but it's...

I don't know the specifics of your situation, but how have you paid for a stream and can't watch it? Advocating that teams and people violate copyright because your in a shitty situation is incredibly short sighted.

I was watching Bruni's Gopro footage from Fort William practice, and something caught my eye. From the footage you can actually see when he switches between damping modes from the LEDs on his stem. It happens at least 3 times: 1) blue mode off the start till at least the wood section (I did not check if he switches anything in the upper section); 2) green mode in the wood section until the second turn/shark fin after the road gap; 3) back to blue mode for the new fast section; 4) red mode from the bridge before the motorway to...

So you have no actual examples to highlight? I was asking for what bs Ball was talking, not just general discontent. There were more cameras on tracks last year than in RB days, more languages broadcast live. U23 XC and junior dh racing broadcast live. All things Ball references in his corporate blurb. Highlights improved course marking and safety. Acknowledges that they have a lot more to do. Those are all real not bs. Correct? You might not like having to pay to watch DH now. I'd prefer if it was free too. But ball's blurb is pretty factual it...

You lost me at 70mm stem It's all interesting though and your right it's all about getting the comfortable position that inspires confidence. I just built up a new rig, I've gone from 27.5 to 29er, both got 35mm stems. I know I had the reach dialled on my last bike because I did quite a few experiments with different bar heights and spacers. So I wanted to replicate this feeling from my last bike. Even tho I'm running much lower bars 40mm rise Vs 19mm. What I did was measure from the bb centre to end of my bar...

Awesome. I was in a similar position as you 2 years ago and was talking with a frame builder about a custom DH bike. Eventually I decided to put my money towards buying and selling multiple frames to test. I learned so much this way to learn what a bike feels like and what it looks like mathematically. Say, I have “lost” $5,000 over 2 years buying and selling but I’ve been able to own and try 6 different frames. Also getting laps on friends bikes. It’s much more economical to make sure you test and know what you’d like...

Ha!! that is my toolbox in the corner! if you look closely on the table there is one of the first 303 RDH prototype frames. Likely the one that Leov raced at MSA and Bromont that year!

Wow. This thread is fun. Few thoughts I feel compelled to share. 1) I personally am not anti-union. I am however suggesting its important to know "what value you bring to the table" (individually or as a group). Any group of people can unionize, it doesn't mean there is underlying value that will result in pay increases (or pay at all). 2) Wu-Tang said it best. CREAM. This doesn't just go for the riders, but the promoters and anyone trying to get paid off of this sport. Unfortunately, the (free) "cash (flow) pie" is highly unlikely to be big enough...
