4/19/2025 2:22pm Hey everyone, this is TJ. Tariffs aren't fixed to factory cost, or wholesale or retail. They're calculated based on the specific transaction price. The example we used is accurate for an ecomm purchase, shipped from our warehouse in Canada. If a retailer ordered the same short and we charged them half the price ($100), the same tariff percentage would apply, so tariffs would be $145 for a total cost to the retailer of $245. If the retailer sells that short to a customer and maintains their dollar margin the short would be $345 to the end user - however if...

Buckets Up Added a reply to Whistler Bike Park Seasons Passes not being sold to Yanks
4/18/2025 11:09am Well since nobody can buy a pass currently, a guess might be that Whistler/Vail sees the writing on the wall that visit volumes might shift dramatically this summer and coming winter seasons. They might have paused to conduct a quick cost/benefit analysis to see it they can maximize (the remaining, as I'm sure it will be down) profit by adjusting...

4/18/2025 8:04am I personally hate everything Warner Bros has done with DH, but not having a clear and direct path for Gwin to be able to race is possibly the most egregious.

4/16/2025 4:06am I’m a big proponent that steel hardtails should always have adjustable dropouts also so they can be run single speed.

4/12/2025 7:39am These brink back such cool BlackMarket vibes (which makes sense because some of the earliest Mob frames were built by S&M).

4/9/2025 6:50am You can get a student version of Ansys Workbench for free with a University email. Definite learning curve with the software, but it’s probably the best FEA program out.

4/8/2025 12:08pm That’s not a Bullit. I’m sorry, but companies need to stop recycling names from bikes with vastly different use intentions. The original Bullit was a budget friendly freeride weapon that was ridden to a podium at Rampage and thrashed in the woods by countless young mountain bikers coming of age with their friends and pioneering the sport. This is a...

4/6/2025 2:36pm I'm aware, and have an understanding that 90% or more of riders have no business touching high speed compression or rebound knobs. There are many suspension company's making fantastic stuff for cheap. Suntour, Rockshox, Marzocchi and X-fusion all knock it out of the park with close to $500 suspension products for every day riders from XC to freeride. I love my Z1 and rarely do I find it unable to keep up to my 38 Factory while it does double duty on a hardtail on the same trails. And the Domain has been a reliable smasher of a park and...

4/6/2025 1:54pm Observations from Race Day from an old head: 1. No one could tell me where Spomer was to cop a feel 2. Lars Tribus did a solid MC job smoothly with Grizz 3. Walking the pits during/post race brought back all the cruel memories of putting it all on the line. So many young, fit, intense people’s faces showing the frustration of a run just off from perfect. 4. The depth of dialed in rider/bike combos was absurd. Especially in the women’s field. Bikes & riders were precise & on the edge while completely composed. 5. Simple, perfectly sculpted 90...

4/6/2025 1:15pm All highly physically demanding sports have risks. Football players, race car drivers, moto, rugby, hell even road cycling. I used to compete at the highest level of North American big mountain freeskiing in the 00s. In the ~8-9 years I was around, three people died in contest runs. I’m not sure what the right answer was for the sport at...

4/6/2025 12:47pm I always assumed they were kinda like SR Suntour and made parts for others primarily. It seems like with all these alternative suspension companies (not Fox/Rockshox and maybe now Ohlins) there success is tied to how easy it is to get replacement parts and talk to someone internal directly to answer questions. If a non-mainstream company could have their whole...

TEAMROBOT Liked a reply to forum topic May we see your Mountain Bike Van Set Up?
4/2/2025 8:19pm So I'll bite for a chance at a free van trip. My name is Charlie, I'm one of the tech editors here, based in LA. I'm a former pro MTB racer, have done a lot of bike travel, and I've owned my very own bike van in the past. I think vans can be awesome for road trips but are a real drag as a primary vehicle, which is part of the reason why rental vans for bikes/motos seems like an interesting business idea. Would love to do a one week rental and go to school remotely. That would actually...
