I’m not sure I see a downside to progression in the mid 30% range other than small volume air shocks not being good and some people not being able or use full travel. Some of the most well received links we make are around 35%. To date my fastest lap time on predator is on a bike that’s 36%. The thing I see giving people a hard time as of late is anti rise. There is still a very wide range between different bikes here. Sometimes I get the feeling that people perceive no downside to super low anti rise...

I wonder about this. Any bike brand has had the opportunity to notice that the way the plots of leverage ratio, antisquat, and antirise are misunderstood in a lot of settings (reviews, forums) might not be a net benefit to them or their customers. Is it transparency if it’s going to be used to build some internet doofus’ imaginary narrative about the bike? Yes and no? The most fundamental ideas at play when looking at the output of a program like linkage should include 1) it’s a model, and it’s a model of just some of the behavior of the...

Just got back from a day at Dyfi. This is the production-ready model, two were being tested by journalists in preparation for the official launch on the 12th. In person it’s absolutely striking and looks like nothing else out there. If the frame only price is reasonable then I’ve never been more tempted by a bike. (If anyone from Atherton bikes wants me to remove the photo I’m happy to, but as it’s been seen by upwards of 100 people today I’m sure it’s fine).

What??? They are getting outside the industry perks, money and exposure. You know almost all other 'major sport' atheletes get outside the sport money and often auto industry money. In addtion, your second comment is about Fezzari/Ari, not Ford. You mad because Ford skipped over your resume?

Welcome to 2024, when one of a sponsored rider’s attributes is being a giant corporate automaker “ambassador.” “Check out my cool retro off-road vehicle with nostalgia points, and optional catastrophic engine failure.”

Thanks for the detailed response, Nick. I've been building my MTB wheels with exclusively Competitions for a while because I assumed a double-butted spoke would create a stronger spoke than the Champions I used before. Are you suggesting that a Complite would actually be more durable for MTB than a Competition, which is listed as "road focused?" (EDIT- thanks for clarifying!)

Full disclaimer! I work at DT Swiss in the US office in OEM sales. I am not into landscaping so no astroturfing here. The goal of this spoke is to be a more cost effective spoke with the technology and shape developed in the Revolite. It is not specifically a bladed spoke in the traditional sense, it has additional material in the bladed area forming a unique shape that is far more durable from impact. The machine that forges these is absolutely massive. There is a lot going on with the shape of these. Dimensions 2.0/1.75/2.0 1.5/2.3 Stealing from @MK_...

So, this promotion really says nothing...sort of like a politician. "The most durable DT Swiss spoke in its weight category to date.." What is the "category'? DH, XC, 'enduro'....? What is the targeted application? Are they 2.0, 1.8 or different? I have DT on most of my bikes since forever, but this is a pretty lame press release.

You might then need to clarify what that hate is and who those consumers are. I’m a Maxxis consumer and have no hate for them. Neither do any of my many mates that use them. Do they have links to slavery or something? Blood Rubber?

Calling it „superior peak“ and „the future of downhill“ might also be an exaggeration when it basically looks like a commencal FRS with a few frame adjustments built in.

I work with a SEO guy who will show up in Internet forums asking fake questions that are meant to lead people to us…it’s so embarrassing.
