Just buy a DH bike with steep seat tube angle and run a dropper post and full drivetrain. Then you have the best of both worlds! Frameworks for the win. And for those complaining it ruins drivetrains, this XX group (minus chain replacements) has been running strong since Jan. 2023.

Ebikes erase hills, headwinds, and polls. DH bike and an eeb. Dealer’s choice on the eeb, they’re all better than every pedal bike. Easy peasy!

I just got back from a week long trip to whistler where due to some family issues (sick pet) and friends cancelling last minute, I was mostly riding alone. I stopped riding my ebike and rode the natural short travel trail bike every day this week. It's just more fun. Less decent for the same amount of time. It's been glorious.
