Oregon isn't really representative of the riding on the West Coast when people talk about needing bigger bikes out here. Oregon is known for being smooth and flowy. BC and Washington are classic west coast in my books.

12/10/2025 8:19am Yeah. It's just a long-stroked sight. I don't know why they didn't make this a 180/180, dual crown compatible, to create more separation between the bikes. I bought the C2 sight when it first came out and put a 38 and a coil on it. Maybe just call it a Sight LT.

Interesting/annoying spec choices though - mavens on the “all mountain” sight and shimano on the “enduro” range? Lame. Also, I’m am a transmission (and wireless in general) hater when it comes to meat powered bikes, but damn if i wouldn’t rather have it on my eeb.

What are the reviewers' opinions on boosting the travel to 170/160? Would the loss of the snappiness be worth the bump-eating ability?

Vital has spent 7 months aboard what may be our favorite full-powered eMTB of 2025, the Norco Sight VLT CX. This full carbon, high pivot rig gets 150mm of rear travel with a 160mm fork up front, and despite the numbers, feels considerably longer travel than advertised. All good & we're happy to help as best we can. Poppy, playful, stable, and confident are all subjective in their own right. Agility & stability are somewhat at odds with one another - bit of a tradeoff, you might say. With this bike, we've tried to strike what we feel is the "perfect balance", or somewhere in the middle. Compared to it's predecessor, the Offering has gotten longer, with a slacker HA and longer CS. Thus, leaning more towards stability. We didn't go crazy with these numbers, because we wanted to carefully preserve the agile character Evil is known...

Thanks & great question - it's a longer answer than we can reasonably sum up here, but we'll do our best. Your assessment is correct - an "agile" ride character has always been somewhat of a hallmark here at Evil. We try to walk the line between agile/fun, and stable/confident. Short stays make for fun wheelies & jumps, thus, we've always stayed on the shorter side. There's a great argument for size-specific chainstay lengths - that much, we do not debate. Our rear triangles are a relatively complex mold. Molds are quite expensive. Introducing another rear triangle mold increases total...

I'd love to try one... in a field of crab links, faux crab links and imitation crab link look alikes, this does stand out as different and interesting. As a 6'3" ish rider, I'm interested in the design/validation process that lead to a fixed chainstay size. I'm a longer chainstay type of guy, but I can admit when I jump on a pivot, I'm not thinking of how short the chainstays are the whole time. I feel like there is a riding style that is central to evil bikes that jives with slapping the back end in and out of...

They fixed the seat tube angle! As a tall guy, I would finally consider an Evil! As for the pricing - please stop whining. This is pretty standard now, for better or worse. It’s less an an equivalent Santa Cruz. Go buy a YT.

First of all, this is an exceptional article that is well done, is not even biased towards e-bikes and it puts some facts and data to the comparison between the two I was on team anti-E bike for years thinking how core I was & that E's were for newbs and lazy people. But after a catastrophic knee injury & multiple surgeries, an E was the only thing that kept me moving outdoors in my beautiful mountains (gravel roads) vs sitting on a fan bike in my house... my sense of gratefulness to even be out on simple zero-gnar gravel...
