For anyone interested, this 5280 article (Brad Howell sent it along) has some details regarding the demise of print magazines (like Beta) and other layoffs at Outside Inc (which owns PB, too). https://www.5280.com/2022/05/outside-inc-makes-significant-staff-cuts-s… this snippet is most revealing [i]Outside Inc.’s public relations firm did not respond to a request to make Thurston available for comment and instead provided 5280 with a written statement. “Outside has grown tremendously over the past two years, with 20 acquisitions and a quadrupled paid membership to over 800K paid subscribers, but growth often necessitates change. In line with what many in the media industry have...

brash Added a reply to Why Do e-Bikes Need Derailleurs and Gears?

I'll bet my left ball Shimano have some sort of drive/gearbox in one unit under prototype somewhere, this isn't just for E-mtb, but commuter, touring, road etc it just makes so much sense to use. why do they have gears, well as you know they assist the rider, they don't propel the bike without input from the rider. The mechanical...

Re: Neken stem Sometimes more is more, sometimes it's not. We all want a more comfortable and controlled ride. To that end, many riders want to add all the suspension: tires, rims, spokes, chassis, stem, bar, grips, gloves. The problem is that not all of it is effective at the same frequency or amplitude, and those that act on the same frequency and amplitude are not always of the same quality. For example, imagine if you wanted to create a DH set-up. You could take two XC air springs and dampers and just stack them on top of each other...

30 years ago, I had the exact same thing.... was called a girvin flexstem it worked like a normal stem, but had a little skateboard truck bushing in it to give around 1 inch of bar travel. At the time it was pretty revolutionary and worked pretty good. I remember going to a skateboard shop in the early 90's, buying...

-Customer wants their BSO servicing but doesn't want to spend much money.Your inspection highlights many worn parts and issues.Upon hearing this the customer is adamant non of these things were broken when they brought it in and blames you for it. Press Circle- do all the work FOC Press Square- do all the work at cost Press Triangle- ask them to GTFO Mash X repeatedly- Combo punch them to the groin/thorax.

Other way round I find. I've done a few test to see if my iphone or garmin watch was "faster" so to speak for segments, the iphone usually had a faster time by a second or two. For some reason the altitude measurement for the phone is also way more generous, you get 10% free vertical meters you probably didn't...

Found a 20% discount code on Reddit thru a Garmin thread. It worked, saved some coin and now I have a Fenix 7x Sapphire showing up sometime in the next 5-8 weeks 😂

using a garmin instinct for a few years now. I seem to have the same issue where after 18 months or so battery life falls of a cliff, Garmin are fantastic and give a new replacement watch no questions asked delivered within a week. Can't fault their service at all, and I like the watch too.

maybe, but I don't get bucked off line nearly as much anymore and any rough sections it just plows through, arguably it's safer. I honestly don't know how you could go over the bars with 63 degree head angle unless you were doing something really stupid. No doubt I'll do it next ride out Smile
