Jason_Schroeder Liked a forum topic Has Red Bull Hardline gone too far?
9/9/2022 9:48pm Red Bull Hardline is taking place this weekend, and in case you haven't seen any of the action, this year's track looks bigger and gnarlier than ever. The events creator/builder, Dan Atherton, has not held back, and the track features two new jumps over 100 ft long (30 meters). The Fest Series has been pushing the limits of jump sizes for years, but that is in a session format, not midway down one of the wildest downhill tracks in the world. I've had a hard time watching highlights from the first day of practice knowing how high the risk is...

mxbigd17 Started a new thread Burgtec axle
9/7/2022 6:24pm Just received my axle today from Burgtec to get rid of the quick release lever on the rear axle. The new axle is shorter than the one that came stock with my 2022 Santa Cruz Tallboy (minus the quick release lever). Their site showed this was correct for the Tallboy V4. What do you guys think?

9/7/2022 6:24pm Yea the threads barley catch, I’m going to get the correct length one. The one I ordered is a 168.5x12, their site showed this was correct. It turns out I need the 173x12 axle for my bike. It’s my fault for not double checking. No biggie…But on the plus side, it is the correct length for my Santa Cruz Chameleon...

4/25/2022 3:15pm I had the Fenix 6 for a while and now have Epix 2. I have previously had Whoop, Apple, Polar. So it depends on what you want to do with it? Are you serious about training or want to really keep tabs on your activities and geek out with the data? Garmin would work well. Its accurate, adaptable and doesnt dumb it all down, doesnt require 10 apps to try and sync together. And the battery lasts! But if you just want a fancy watch, its completely overkill and expensive. Personally I found Whoop to be completely inaccurate as did...

4/23/2022 7:30pm Found a 20% discount code on Reddit thru a Garmin thread. It worked, saved some coin and now I have a Fenix 7x Sapphire showing up sometime in the next 5-8 weeks 😂

4/22/2022 7:49pm $1000 for a Fenix 7X, I would hope it had more than 18 months in the tank. These are really nice looking watches with a lot of features.

4/22/2022 10:28am What watches are you guys wearing to sync up with your Strava or Trailforks accounts? I’ve been checking out the Garmin line of the Fenix 7x and EPIX 2 but wound like some feedback of what watches you guys use and if you use a Garmin is it worth the price tag.

2/6/2022 1:24pm I wouldn't worry about it, you might notice initially, but you'll get used to it pretty quick. There is a school of thought that shorter cranks spin faster and increase cadence, which may actually be helpful if you have dodgy knees. My own experience, I swapped from 175mm to 170mm when I got a long/low/slack frame, mostly because random pedal strikes. 5mm might not seem much, but it's the difference between OTB and a glancing blow at speed. Some would say it's a technique thing, but it's MTB, shit happens. I have 175mm on a few other bikes and 172.5...

2/5/2022 4:37pm Hey guys, I need some help with fitment. I’m purchasing a 2022 Tallboy XO1 large model and the LBS building the bike told me the crank arm length for my bike is only 170mm. I thought the large frame bikes came with 175mm. 170mm crank arms feel small to me, my girlfriends MTB has 170mm and I feel like I’m...

8/1/2021 12:15pm One of my close friends and former Trestle Bike Park Bike Patrol member, Jason Kottwitz, passed away at 28 years old. He was an integral part of the St. Louis area mountain biking community, and has been one of Shepherd Mountain Bike Park's most fervent advocates. I put this together on the other site as a way of eulogizing the legend that was "Snoop Dogg": https://m.pinkbike.com/u/jcc0042/blog/jason-kottwitz-midwest-mountain-b…. We've set up a Gofundme page to relieve the financial burden of his untimely death and allow them to grieve without concern for the financial implications: https://gofund.me/3ea2193f Jason made a lot of friends from...
