Tyre pressure is the first thing you should have dialled, then make sure your fork is in good working order and sliding properly on its seals and bushings. Even a slightly sticky fork can be the difference of 5 to 10 psi or the last 20mm of travel alone! Spring rate is the most important thing to get set up, it's what supports your weight and pushes the wheels back to the ground so has the biggest effect on how the bike responds to bumps. The damper dissipates the "left over" energy to help the spring use only the travel...

This fork is a hodgepodge of 36 Rhythm upper + Stantion, a 36 Factory lower, a Revalved FitGrip from MBSC for my fat arse and vorpsrung smashpotted at 170mm. Flex wise it feels the same as my 40's on my DH bike. Pretty good combo. This bike weighs 16.8kg ready...

6/4/2019 3:16pm good points. If anyone has tried a Manitou McLeod rear shock it will teach you that money doesn't equal performance, I've seen those shocks in the bargain bins for dirt cheap and they are a great option for a heavy boi.
