I ran the racing lines for a bit this summer, found that the front is noticeably slow rolling even compared to a 3CG assegai. Also reminds me of a shorty, in that the front holds a great edge on corners until it abruptly doesn’t. Grip on rocks left a bit to be desired too compared to maxxis.

I'm running the downhill casing Kriptotals (Fr and Re). They were pretty average to install with inserts. Durability is much better than Maxxis, especially when comparing the soft compound to a maxxterra. The supersoft I'm running in the front is wearing similarly to a maxxgrip assegai I had a couple of years ago, which is a good thing since they both hold up reasonably well. As for durability I never flatted, and in the process I managed to destroy an alloy rim (a shitty roval, avoid them at all cost) but the tire survived with no scratches, I later mounted...

Is that a threaded BB finally?!? Looks like it to me (but not super familiar with the Shimano line).

Regarding weight, count the number of flex-stay single pivot bikes present on the world cup start line. Compare that to the suspension systems used in longer travel bikes of the same companies. Then think about the reason for this suspension choice. Smile I'd hazzard a guess an aluminium dual short link Commencal bike would be at least a kilo up on the weight of competing XC frames. That's ~10 % at the total bike weight.

Her “XC” bike is the new enduro platform short stroked/forked and with custom links. Not a chance commencal is moving into XC

Oh man I'm so excited for next year. Jordan and Jackson coming to elite, and I think one, if not both can get a win. Bernard Kerr nearly winning multiple times this year, can he get a win next year? Ronan Dunne and Henry Kerr both setting good pace Gwin back on the box Finn finally getting a win

But the bars are still Enve. And the logo is on the jersey. Plus the wheels are unmarked. Weird things Smile I seem to recall they're running CB wheels now?

I had a similar experience after having COVID last winter (along with really bad fatigue). It took me ~3 months to get the final 10% back. Some things that *seemed* to help were doing zone 2 riding (which was boring and frustrating) and being very patient about not pushing too hard (if I did push hard it felt like I set myself back a week as it took that long to recover). I also gave up booze (which sucked at first but got easier). The best advice I can offer is be patient with yourself and try not to get...

I had Covid this past May and haven’t been able to get back to my level of fitness from before despite riding a lot more. I race regional pro enduro and was hoping to get some EWS points for 2023 to do my first pro race but my fitness/endurance has been so shit despite training that I can’t get through...

At risk of starting the dumpster fire of all dumpster fire threads, I wanted to see if anyone around here has struggled with fitness following COVID. Though I am by no means as bad off as some, I've noticed my all-out efforts are ~10% off my best from last season, I seem to recover worse, and am often forced to walk sections I rode last section with relative ease. Though there are a number of variables worth considering with something like this, it all seemed to begin when I recovered from a bout with COVID. Yes, I've seen a medical...
