schwaaa31 Liked a reply to forum topic Gwin not representing US at World Championships? (WTF?)

Sure. But Gwin, as team manager and owner should be aware of how the process works? Seems like the other teams got the info to their guys. The lack of communication between him and Neko on this, as teammates, is baffling.

XC racing, especially at the World Cup or Olympic level, is insanely gnarly! Besides the physical abilities required you would never find me sending it on a 100mm bike with a straight post. Head to head racing is pretty exciting as well!

There is a bit of a personality trait at play here, and it's quite common in elite athletes when shit goes wrong. It's called a "external locus of control" in short, they can't grasp the idea that when something doesn't go to plan that it is a failure of their own/process. The athlete will deflect or blame anything and everything but themselves refusing to acknowledge they f&*(ked up. This is a bit of a broad generalization, but something worth mentioning. Hopefully he can learn from it and use it to fuel the fire inside to kick ass in the future.

Anyone that thinks MVP can't ride a mountain bike is an idiot, plenty of footage of him shredding XC bikes on rough terrain. Sucks what happened, and can understand his reaction in the aftermath of the race. Give it time he will probably own it. More embarrassing is the Dutch women's team and the whole organization's reaction to the road race where they got embarrassed. Whining about lack of radios/info because they can't count breakaway riders out/in. Not even congratulating the winner who was standing beside them, pathetic. Jolanda killed it though! Huge save on the drop and then passing...

Can you not put the winners in the damn titles!? So ridiculous. I don't need to know about the womens winner on the homepage in a forum about VDP crash.

Since joining our community, you've made 15 comments. None of them have been about mountain biking in any direct form. There are antagonistic comments from a number of people in this thread, but you stand out as an individual whose only stance is to incite negativity. Please, shape up or ship out.

This has nothing to do with politics but you are barely literate and have little understanding of context, manners, or empathy. It is literally impossible to have a conversation with someone like yourself. So please don’t go telling others how they live under a rock. everybody just do yourself a favor and don’t feed the troll. I should’ve just not said anything about waki and started this mess. My bad! 😬

I’m looking forward to more comments to read on Vital as people migrate from Pinkside. But mainly because Vital comments and forum talk is usually a step up in quality and a step down (or many steps down) in obnoxiousness. So i would request the Vital commenting system stays the same. It doesn’t need to be too easy for people to bicker. Lets keep Vital comments bike focused, high quality and most of all positive. The Mullet Cycles thread was entertaining but I like how it was eventually pulled down, i assume to squash the negativity.

Sigh, well that didn't take us refugees very long to screw this up. Come on people! Remember the rules: comments that involve politics, race, or sexism are not acceptable. Unless they are really, really, funny.

Seems we have our first pinkbike pot stirrer. You can leave that shit at the door sir. The only liberal or conservative conversation in the bike forum here is on the topic of how much Sram butter to use.

Hopefully the wokeness and crybabies from pinkbike don’t migrate over. Never realized how many liberals were on Pinkbike.

The thing I truly despised about PB (may it not RIP, but die the horrible death it deserves) is they would purposely title and push out articles designed to spark the very comments they wanted to censor and inflame. It was clear they did this to drive a political agenda within their staff and at the same time, it undoubtedly drove eyes to the site as the most inflammatory stories, often having nothing to do with subjects 99% of the readership gave a shit about would get a record numbers of comments and thus views (no doubt exploited to advertisers...

Agree, keep the politics and American outrage at one another over on Pinkbike comments. I like Vital because it doesn't have all that bullshit. Hopefully it stays that way.

PB's insufferable wokeness killed them. Goddamn they were annoying . I migrated over here to Vital as my only MTB source and it has been awesome. Just don't fall into that trap Vital.

The pathetic thing was removing him to begin with. While Waki was, well, wacky, it is not too hard to just ignore someone and not read their content....but, some folks insist on being victims.
