For a counter-counter point, the article notes that the bike ships with 800mm bars yet the testers were given 760. They should have tested all bikes with the same bar width IMO… to remove that variable. I respect your need to follow a budget, and on the hand a $100 bar for a $5000 bike is 2% extra… most riders would be willing to pay this to make their expensive purchase as comfortable as possible.

I used a problem solvers cage slider on a different bike. turns out the bottle touching the seat tube ever so slightly was enough to remove the paint in about 1 ride but that was a hard tail. Would you have any concern about long term wear on the shock or anything due to this? Its a fine balance between maintaining clearance and maximizing open space in a frame for mounting gear directly or some kind of storage device.

I appreciate the detailed report on the bottle brushing the shock. Would there have been room to slide it a few mm higher up the down tube? Even a smaller bottle would be worth not worrying about that in my book.

Claims on a culture of freedom fall apart once you start defending the right to say and do things that impinge the freedom of others. Your trying to draw an equivalence between your right to say what you like or be occasionally amused by someone who is a racist, and the rights of people to live without racist, sexual or other persecution. They aren't even nearly equivalent and it's going to be a long life for you if you soil yourself every time someone calls you out for it. Waki wasn't even funny either, what a weird hill to die...

That is awesome. Do you mind sharing you gearing tooth count combo front and rear? I didnt see that in your specs. Stylus frame is on the top of my list and my only hesitation has been question about ability to run singlespeed. And waiting for availability of course.
