12/18/2024 1:03pm According to the OTB podcast, Atherton is going to be riding a belt drive bike next season to chase the Gates purse. Also an unnamed Kiwi junior is joining the team. Does Luke Wayman have another year of juniors? There's been a rumor of him joining for a while.

12/16/2024 11:30am You know how rich dorks move into the cool neighborhood and then start complaining about the nightclub’s noise and the neighborhood starts sucking and becomes lame and they’re all looking around like what? That’s what this feels like. Union embodied the passion that truly drives the sport. Their whole thing was to help, not to earn. Pricing them out is not better for anyone.

12/16/2024 11:30am Hardly fair to imply the OneUp post falls into the cheap but unreliable category. You'll find outliers that have replaced a number of cartridges, others who occasionally service them, and yet others still who've more or less never had to service them. Other than cleaning the collar and adding slick honey to the seal head, I've never had to do a take-apart service of any of my oneup posts after years of use. Where were you for the first 5 years of dropper posts? Maybe you've moved the goalposts since but 90% of the stuff from that era is going...

12/9/2024 7:51am @sprungmass Seeing that you're from Calgary, I'm going to trust your judgement on this and see what they have to offer. @TEAMROBOT Taking Conti all freakin year to release some Supersoft Enduro casings...I don't want to ride DH casing tires for Supersoft compound on my 125mm bike. Maybe time to look at good ol Maxxis for some lighter casing MaxxGrips...

12/9/2024 7:08am Any good tire recommendations for cold weather riding? Rode last Friday and it was about 30 out, the tires were pinging off rocks and generally just seemed hard because of the low temps. I have Conti Enduro Soft F&R on right now, they're pretty good at anything above 40 but there's going to be another month or two of cold...

12/9/2024 6:38am I have created a spreadsheet with rumors on it in an attempt to calculate the points that each team will have going into 2025 and which teams will be world series teams (since this year the rankings are based on rider points). I do not have better info than anyone else, I am simply reading the forums. Much of the info is out of date and incomplete so if anyone would like, feel free to edit to make this more complete and accurate. There are two tabs, where the second one shows the ranking. Read the red notes for info...

12/9/2024 6:34am HBO on my new Super Deluxe coil is awesome, and Rockshox shocks do not require a vacuum bleeder. Simple if you have a bench vice and shaft clamps. Also Rockshox has phenomenal tech documents and if you follow the directions it’s kind of idiot proof. Reshimming shouldn’t be a big hurdle if you’re a capable home mechanic.

12/9/2024 6:34am Good folks of Vital. So, because I have nothing going on in my life outside of bikes apparently and a bad case of Gear Acquisition Syndrome (G.A.S). I am seriously thinking about getting the tooling to start doing full shock services/re-shimming in my garage. I've already gone down the rabbit hole of simple suspension services for my forks/shocks like lower leg services and air can services. But have recently been inspired to take it to the next level and start to do damper services and shock re-shimming. It's also worth to note that getting even just basic damper work done...

12/5/2024 5:22pm I use thinner oil than the fox gold (~50cSt eg Maxima Plush Dynamic light, Rockshox 0w-30 or Motorex 10wt) all year round, especially in larger stanchioned forks or long bushings like a Zeb. Certain applications (ie cold weather or large oil volume like a smashpot) can be even better with a 5 or 7 wt oil. The stuff over 50cSt is good for 32mm cross country forks but creates too much viscous damping at high speed, and can be dragged past your dust wipers and in to your damper too easily

12/5/2024 8:04am Looks like Anna Newkirk, or another medium height woman with brown hair. That would check out. Although it could have theoretically been Callie Horwath, Neko's gf. Anna would make more sense from a marketing and team hype perspective though.

12/5/2024 7:39am I bought the Lift for a Fox 38 and it didn't come with crush washers either. Also partially hijacking this thread - do any of you use a thinner oil(think 68k supergliss or the EXT/Ohlin stuff) in the cold winter?

12/4/2024 11:11am I haven't run the DTs with a 54 tooth recently so I can't comment on that. My most comparable hub would probably be the i9 1/1 hub, and I personally like the Onyx better - you always know what you're getting with the onyx, it's predictable. With the i9 1/1, it could be nothing, or it could be a pretty...

12/4/2024 9:13am No experience with STFU, but I will concur that the soft catch on the Onyx hubs feel less jarring in certain compression moments. I like them a lot, but there's also a couple riders I know who don't like the feeling they describe as "sluggish". I would go as far to say that the Onyx hubs feel like a super...
